The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1117
After the meeting ended, outside the door, Cecilia heard the voices of a few directors who had not yet left the meeting room.
“Our CEO is really neglecting the company more and more. He’s been having his assistant manage the company’s operations for so long now.”
“I know right? I really don’t know what the CEO’s thinking. He’s neglecting the entire company just for a single woman.
Blake was very busy these days and had no time to slack off. She occasionally followed Cecilia to travel around and learned a lot working under her.
After the lesson learned from last time, Blake would bring hangover medicine with her whenever she went to business events, so as not to end up drunk again.
Blake rarely saw Kevin in the company these days. Even Susan, who spent most of her time working in the company, had not seen Kevin in the company for a long time.
Blake followed behind Cecilia, and the two walked to the elevator. Cecilia said, “I’ll be leaving the company for a while later on, no need to follow me.”
Blake responded, “Okay, Ms. Samford.”
Cecilia said, “These few days must’ve been exhausting for you.”
Blake responded, “Not at all, I’m fine. I’ve learned a lot by following you. Rest assured; I’ll do my best working with you.”
Cecilia was dressed in a purple suit. She, with her hands crossed, turned her head and glanced at Blake with appraising eyes as she smirked. She stepped into the elevator when it arrived.
Blake said, “Goodbye, Ms. Samford.”
After the elevator doors closed, Blake sighed in relief and relaxed.
After Cecilia packed up in the office, she took her car keys and changed into casual clothes before leaving her office. She then locked the door and took the dedicated elevator to the basement.
There were hardly any people in the underground parking lot, as it was still working hours.
Just as Cecilia dialed a number on her phone, a man suddenly came out from a corner and covered her mouth with a cloth. Cecilia struggled for a moment; having learned self-defense, she was about to counterattack. However, the assailant was well-prepared. Cecilia, who had breathed through the drugged cloth several times, lost consciousness very quickly.
The effects of the drug were short- lived, only lasting a few minutes. Cecilia woke up with a hood over her hand. She was lying on the ground with her hands and feet tied.
A man standing near her grabbed her hair to make her stand up. Soon, Cecilia could feel a sharp pain in her stomach.
Her mouth was stuffed with a cloth, so her shout could not be heard. She continued to endure a series of intense punches and kicks, one after another.
Then, someone untied the ropes binding Cecilia’s hands and feet. She lay limp on the ground.
“The boss said to keep her alive, so don’t beat her to death,” someone instructed. It seemed like the assailant purposefully came for Cecilia.
When the hood was removed, the surroundings were cleaned up, and the perpetrators left.
Before Cecilia fell unconscious again, she only saw the man’s back as he left. Her private parts bled profusely, causing her to fall unconscious.
Meanwhile, the man had already got into an MPV in the underground parking lot and made a phone call.
“Mr. Harrison, we’ve taken care of the things that you instructed. Rest assured; her unborn child won’t survive.”
Kevin said something on the other end of the call.
“Yeah, she’s alive, in the safe passage on the first floor of the company. Someone will discover her soon. She won’t die, but she’ll definitely suffer. She’ll be bedridden for at least three to five months.”
