The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning Chapter 1084 by Max Charming

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1084

When Blake called Kevin, she saw him helping Audrey leave the hospital. She chased after them without any hesitation.

Although she did not know why he was at the hospital, she could not care less. She felt that she had to tell him about this matter now. Blake followed Kevin all the way to the parking lot, “Mr. Harrison.”

Kevin turned around to look at Blake, who was approaching him hurriedly.

“Mr. Harrison, I have something to tell you. I’ll leave after I say it.”

Audrey let go of Kevin’s hand. She gently smiled as she said, “Ms. Dion has something to talk to you about. I’ll wait in the car.”

She then glanced at Blake before turning around and leaving to sit in the front passenger seat.

Blake pulled Kevin to a quiet place. He asked, “Why are you at the hospital?”

Blake responded, “Last night, the hospital called me, saying Cecilia needed someone to accompany her. I’m not sure about her actual condition, but I took care of her all night. Just now, I heard that she wants to work with the Young family to go against Mr. Jardin. They want to kill him. Cecilia also fueled the flames, saying that Madelyn instigated everything. I’m afraid they’ll do something harmful to Madelyn behind her back. Moreover, I believe in Madelyn; she’d never hurt anyone.”

Kevin stayed quiet to process the information. Then, he simply responded, “You don’t need to be involved in this matter. You’ve caused enough trouble. Do you know how many people are watching us now? Blake, since you’ve officially joined the company, you should focus on your job and avoid doing anything unnecessary.

Blake thought, ‘I’m causing trouble? I’m doing something unnecessary?”

She was filled with rage. She could not hold back her anger and scolded, “Are you out of your mind?! Kevin Harrison, I was kind enough to inform you about the matter. What kind of attitude was that?! Yes, your position is higher than mine; big deal! Oh my goodness, how could I’ve known someone of your character? Fine, I overstepped. I won’t say anything extra to you from now on. I’d be a fool if I do!”

She furiously lifted her slanted shoulder bag before turning around and adding, “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. You really infuriate me!”

She walked away with her head low, immediately getting into a taxi parked at the hospital entrance.

Kevin had mixed feelings as he watched Blake leave. After that, he got into the driver’s seat. Audrey said, “I can tell that Ms. Dion cares about you a lot. You shouldn’t use those words to provoke her. What you said, for any girl, was indeed a bit hurtful.”

Without looking at Audrey, Kevin gripped the steering wheel tightly. He actually regretted what he said after he said it. Frustration that could not be vented out built up in his chest.

He said, “I’ll take you home.”

Audrey replied, “I’m troubling you again.”

Kevin responded, “Ms. Parker, you’re being too polite.”

After he took Audrey back, he went to the office and found that Blake was not there. He unconsciously stopped at her seat, tapping her desk with his knuckles. Janice, startled, lifted her head and stammered, “M-Mr. Harrison…”

Kevin asked, “Where is she?”

Janice nervously adjusted her glasses, ” I think she went to find Mr. Xander. Do you need something from her? I can call her to come over right away.”

Kevin’s expression became even gloomier, “No need.”

“Mr. Xander” was the editor-in-chief of the newly established literary website in the Editorial Department.

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
