The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 1061

Margaret watched Madelyn go upstairs in confusion. She thought, ‘Why is she so angry? Did something go wrong today?’

Just as Madelyn went up, a voice rang behind her, “Come and see if the venue’s decorations are to your liking.”

Madelyn immediately gripped the handrails so hard that her nails bit into the wood. She replied, “Do whatever you like.”

She continued to climb up the stairs weakly. After choosing the decorations, Zach turned around to look for Madelyn.

Then, the manager said, “Mr. Jardin, you can rest assured that we won’t disappoint Mrs. Jardin. We will use champagne roses for all the decorations at the venue.”

On the other hand, Madelyn went to the drawing room and locked herself inside. She sat on the couch helplessly.

When Zach followed her upstairs, he knew she would be in the drawing room. As Zach tried to open the door, the handle would not budge. Zach’s gaze darkened. He asked Margaret, What did you say to her?”

Margaret told him, “I didn’t say anything to her! I merely mentioned that the date for the wedding will be on the fourteenth of February. Who’d knew she would become so angry so swiftly.”

“Bring me the keys,” Zach ordered. Margaret quickly went to take the spare key. When Zach opened the lock, he saw that everything was normal. Madelyn had a pen in hand. From a single glance, he could see that she was absent-minded.

Zach walked over as Madelyn was still stuck in her own world. She did not notice Zach until he held her hand. He asked her, “What were you thinking about just now?”

Madelyn answered, “The wedding date next month is my friend’s memorial day.”

Zach was at a loss for words.

‘Why did she tell me this?’ Zach thought.

Madelyn had thought about telling Zach that in her past life, the tenth of February was Cecilia’s and his wedding anniversary, as well as the day she died. She wondered if that would make him feel guilty. However, even without asking, Madelyn already knew the answer. She let go of her pen and had Zach put it aside.

He asked her, “Which friend?”

Madelyn avoided Zach’s hand and stood up before saying, “It’s a friend I know from another country. Why did you choose that day specifically?”

‘Was Zach reincarnated like Cecilia?’ Madelyn thought.

She shook her head and denied that answer. She thought, ‘If Zach did reincarnate, then why is he in such a hurry to hold this wedding? At this rate, I might end up with the same fate as in my previous life.”

Zach hugged her from behind and entwined their fingers together. He kissed the back of her hand and asked, ” You don’t like it? If you don’t, we can move it forward to the Twelfth Night next week.”

Madelyn Jent died on her wedding anniversary. She had been married to Zach Jardin for eight years, compromising for the better part of her life. However, she ended up being kicked out of the house. After the painful divorce, Madelyn was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite her deteriorating health, she clung to life in the hospital, hoping that Zach would visit her one last time. As Valentine's Day arrived, heavy snow fell outside. Yet, Zach failed to make an appearance, leaving Madelyn with a deep sense of regret. "Zach Jardin... If I could start over, I would never fall in love with you again!"

Miraculously, Madelyn found herself reborn to the time when she was eighteen. Fueled by the desire to avoid repeating the same mistakes, she made a solemn vow to distance herself from everything related to Zach. But fate seemed determined to test her resolve. Just as she sought to escape the shadows of her past, the same man, Zach, emerged with an intimidating aura, gradually approaching her step by step. His voice, reminiscent of a devil's melody, echoed through the hallway as he declared, "Madelyn, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life..."

Chapter 1 On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Madelyn Jent, a 31-year-old woman, lost her battle to cancer. Inside a room in SereneCare Hospital in Ventropolis, the air was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant. [Zach, the doctor inserted a painful dialysis needle in me today.] [I'm on the verge of death. Could you spare a moment to visit me?] [Please, Zach...] Madelyn weakly turned her head and glanced at the text messages on her phone. Despite sending multiple messages, she had received no response from Zach. IV drips were connected to her veins. Her face was pale, her eyes sunken, and her body emaciated. Cancer had ravaged her limbs, causing them to deteriorate. She was completely immobile, unable to perform even the simplest tasks unaided. The nurse assigned to care for her hadn't shown up for almost two weeks, citing that further treatment was unnecessary. Madelyn was sensitive to the pain, but in the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to suffer with it every day. The only thing that kept her going was her love for Zach. But now, her once overwhelming love for him had faded. She was left with nothing but a frail and ailing body. Madelyn switched off her phone and silently awaited the embrace of death. The pain had nearly blurred her consciousness. She reminisced about the eight years she had devoted to being Zach's faithful wife. But what had she gained in the end? One by one, those around her had abandoned her, leaving her alone and destitute. Madelyn couldn't help but think that Zach would perhaps feel the greatest relief upon her demise. With her gone, he no longer subjected to the sight of her face. He could finally satisfy his longing to bring Cecilia Samford home as his wife. Eight months ago, on Zach's birthday, Madelyn sat on the couch, anxiously waiting for his return. It was well past two o'clock in the morning, and the carefully prepared meal on the table had grown cold. Instead of Zach, it was his assistant who arrived, bearing a divorce agreement. The assistant delivered the news hesitantly, saying, "Madam, Mr. Jardin had no choice. The Jardin Corporation is a vast enterprise that requires an heir." Madelyn forced a pale smile. A few years ago, she had been pregnant, but an accident had tragically led to a stillborn child. Since then, she hadn't been able to conceive.
