Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 81 by HusnaS

81. Can’t Lose Him

At Phoenix City’s First Hospital.

After the Doctor left, Tracy waited for some minutes before opening her eyes. Seeing Lucas standing in front of her, she let out a soft moan of pain and touched her forehead.

Lucas frowned and sat beside her. “Are you in pain?”

Tracy nodded. “I feel so much headache, Lucas. Where am I? What is this place?”

“You’re in the hospital,” Lucas answered. “Tracy, what was the meaning of that?”

“Meaning of what, Lucas?” Tracy sat up weakly. “Did I do anything wrong?”

“You told me Grandpa ordered that engagement.” Lucas gave her a hard look, seemingly controlling his anger.

Tracy’s heart sank, seeing his dark expression. “Honey…” Tears trickled down her face and she held his hand. “I

I am also confused, I thought – 1 thought-”

“Speak clearly.”

His harsh command made her shudder inside. Tracy whimpered and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. She cried, “Grandpa Winston confused me as well. I- I thought it was him who ordered the engagement. I was sure, but then-”

“That’s enough.” Lucas got up, making her lose hold of his arm.

“I am disappointed, Tracy. You weren’t even sure if it was Grandpa’s orders.”

“Honey, please don’t go!” Seeing him about to leave, Tracy panicked.

But Lucas didn’t glance back. His hand reached for the doorknob and he turned it.

“Ahhh!” Tracy’s scream of pain made him look back.

Lucas found her lying on the floor with her knees bruised.

Irritation flashed in his eyes. He scooped her up onto the bed, giving her a stern look. “Do you want to hurt yourself? Why are you so careless?”

Lucas had never openly scolded her before. Tracy’s shock had more tears streaming down her face. “Please don’t go, Honey. Yes, I made a mistake. Because Grandpa treated me a bit well, I shouldn’t have guessed that he was the one who ordered the engagement. I I’ll go to Grandpa and apologize-”

“I said that’s enough.” Lucas tucked her in. “No more silly games.”

He left shortly, despite Tracy’s rapid sobs.

The moment he closed the door, Tracy wiped her tears, her crestfallen look replaced by a fit of rage.

She pulled at her hair and let out a scream, her eyes wide and red as if she’d been electrocuted.

“Wait, what happened” she spoke to herself. “Lucas and I almost got engaged. We- We almost exchanged the rings.”

She stared at her shaking fingers. ” Lucas almost got engaged to me…”

“Damnit, Tracy. How did things go wrong?” Stella walked inside all of a sudden. “I followed Lucas secretly and waited outside the hospital until he left.”

“I’m ruined, Stella!” Tracy covered her face, crying. “Didn’t you hear the snide remarks of those people? Everyone is laughing at me. Grandpa Winston has made me a laughing stock.”

“And the worst thing.” She looked up. The worst thing is that Lucas is also mad at me. What should I do, Stella?”

“That old man!” Stella balled her fists. “Who would have expected that he would suddenly come? I thought you said he was in a coma.”

“It’s ridiculous, isn’t it?” Tracy continued weeping.

Stella frowned. “Now that I think about it, it is not at all ridiculous. Heidi must have done something for him to wake up early. I have always heard the servants gossiping in the past that Heidi knows a secret on how to revive the old man whenever he slips into a coma.”

“Huh?” Tracy’s tears dried up. “Heidi? How?”

“That filthy girl!” Stella walked back and forth. “I thought it was just someone that resembled her. She was inside that hall, she went there with the old man.”

If Heidi was inside the hall, then she must have witnessed her humiliation. Tracy fumed, her already-red eyes flaming. “So Heidi was behind it! She incited Grandpa Winston to storm the engagement. That cunning woman! What if I lose Lucas?”

“No, you can’t lose him!” Stella stared at her seriously. “Maybe Blake and I should have planned something else instead of the engagement, but it was Blake’s idea. He said the engagement should happen before the wedding.”

“Of course, I won’t lose him.” Tracy wiped her tears. “I’ve worked hard to get him, I can’t lose him this easily. Instead, Heidi will lose her life.”

“If you had stayed around three years ago, maybe all these wouldn’t be happening. You could stay back and use Lucas’s affection to your advantage, but you decided to run away,” Stella scolded her.

Tracy looked down, her eyes flashing with worry and fear. “My going abroad is in the past. We- We should just focus on the moment.”
