Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 78 by HusnaS

78. Setting Her Heart Free

At StriveStyle Co., the next day.

Heidi flipped through the contract documents, putting her signatures on the necessary areas.

“This contract is going to last for a few days. Considering the brand’s current condition, and Kate’s career level, we’ll have a testing period. Of course, not to underestimate Kate’s abilities, but to see if the brand can impact your success in a positive way.”

“That’s a great way of thinking.” Kate went through the contract briefly. ”

While other brands are always after prolonging my contract duration with them, you shortened it so that if something goes wrong, I won’t be implicated.”

Even Kate’s manager was pleased with Heidi’s decision. “No one would have come up with this splendid plan. You lived up to your promise of avoiding all the necessary risks.”

“Kate worked hard to be in this position.” Heidi smiled. “Of course, I won’t extort her. This is a fair deal, Suzie. Also be rest assured that our success is not far-fetched.”

“Ms. Olsen is right.” Isla stood behind Heidi. “StriveStyle Co. is already gaining the masses’ support which is a great fortune for the brand.”

“Also, the news has been published on social media already that Kate Anderson is joining StriveStyle Co. You guys can’t believe the comments online.”

“Is that so?” Heidi asked.

Isla nodded. “Yes. So many fashion designers are reaching out to us already. Ms. Olsen, Ms. Lilian’s attempt to drag you down, and Ms. Anderson’s cooperation have had a great impact on this brand’s success. Apart from sympathizing with the brand, people are also rooting for its success.”

“Well, we can only be hopeful.” Heidi chuckled. “It seems StriveStyle Co.’s victory is near.”

“I must say I’m very excited, Heidi. I’ve never taken this kind of risk before.”

“Kate is right,” Suzie added. “I just hope nothing goes wrong.”

Kate and her manager left shortly.

Isla brought out her tablet and scrolled through it. “Among the fashion designers reaching out to us, KU Designs and TrendnShine Fashion Home are currently the most trending. I have already spoken with KU Designs CEO. I wonder if you could be free this evening to have a meeting with him.”

“Sure. We’ll go after work,” Heidi agreed.

She picked up her phone which suddenly rang, surprised to see the familiar phone number from the Harrisons Household.

Heidi answered the phone, and Butler Luke’s anxious voice came from the other end. “Young Miss, It has been long. I hope you are doing well.”

“I am, Butler Luke. How have you been too?” Heidi stood up and strolled toward the large window.

“Not good, Young Miss.” Butler Luke sounded crestfallen. “The Old Master is ill again. Can you please come to the mansion? He is in a temporary coma, and we are not sure if he will wake up today or tomorrow or next tomorrow.”

Heidi was stunned for some seconds before her lips pulled into a smile. “Ask Grandpa Winston to let go of any plan he has. Lucas Harrison is getting engaged today, I can’t be there.”

“Young Miss, you don’t get it. The Master isn’t trying to trick you into coming to the mansion.”

“Have a nice day, Butler Luke. Please send my regards to Grandpa.”

Heidi hung up and let out a sigh, her expression turning gloomy.

“Ms. Olsen, is anything the matter?” Isla walked towards her. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine.” Heidi put on a wry smile and sat down on her chair, shaking her head.

Isla sat across from her, looking unconvinced. “The news has spread in the city that Lucas Harrison’s engagement with Ms. Carlson will take place tonight. Is that what is bothering you?”

A soft laugh escaped Heidi’s lips. “Why should I care that Lucas is getting engaged? We’re just strangers, aren’t we?”

Isla dropped her head. “Ms. Olsen, don’t be hard on yourself by acting indifferent. Don’t you love Mr. Harrison?”

It wasn’t clear, but after witnessing the incidents that occurred at GreyHills City, Isla had a feeling that there was more than hatred between the couple.

“I once loved Lucas…” Heidi trailed off, forcing a smile. “But not anymore.”

After so many years, she’d finally set her heart free. How could she be a fool twice?

Grandpa Winston must have wanted to summon her to the mansion, probably to devise a scheme to stop the engagement from happening.

She couldn’t take part in any of Grandpa Winston’s games.

It was still evident that Grandpa Winston wasn’t ready to accept the fact that things would never work out between her and Lucas.
