75. So Much Information
As Grandpa Winston couldn’t see the news on the tablets properly, and his glasses were not near, Butler Luke cleared his throat and explained.
“Master, I will first tell you the good news. The Young Master’s engagement with Ms. Carlson has been announced.”
“Whereas, the bad news is; The Young Master traveled to GreyHills for a business trip. However, the former – I mean, the Young Miss was coincidentally there. Remember you ordered me to keep an eye on any scandal about the Young Master.”
“Go to the point!” Grandpa Winston was dying of anticipation. “What is the bad news that involves my grandson and granddaughter-in-law?”
Butler Luke sighed. “I was notified by one of the media agencies. They sold the scandal to me at a very high price, otherwise, they would have published it. At a restaurant in GreyHills City, the Young Master made a scene because the Young Miss was with a different guy.”
Grandpa Winston pondered for a few seconds. “Well, that is good news.” He looked up. “The first news you told me is the bad news. I didn’t hear you correctly, right?”
The Butler shook his head. “I would never tell you any news unless it was from a legit source, Master. The news has already spread across the city. The Young Master’s engagement with Ms. Carlson is bound to happen tomorrow.”
“That is outrageous!” Grandpa Winston sprang up and paced back and forth. “Ridiculously outrageous! It appears so many things are happening right under my nose which I know not of! Is my grandson also looking down on me now? Is it because I’m now old!?”
Butler Luke felt it was unfair too.
Grandpa Winston had always been the Young Master’s confidant. Yet, things appear to be slipping out of the old man’s hands.
“Actually, Master, many strange things have been happening in this mansion recently. I overheard some maids gossiping about the Young Master replacing all the bodyguards.”
“Really?” Grandpa Winston halted, his forehead wrinkling in confusion.
“And not only that, it seems those bodyguards must have hurt the former Young- I mean, the Young Miss. Blake Harrison’s orders,” the Butler added, lowering his voice into a whisper.
Grandpa Winston spaced out, then his whole body shook with rage. “Blake- Blake! You mean Blake Harrison wanted to hurt Heidi!?” The living room shook with the old man’s voice.
Holding on tight to his cane, the Butler helped him sit down.
“Please calm down, Master. The good thing is that the Young Master must have saved the Young Miss himself.”
“Eh? Is that so?” Grandpa Winston’s mood took a drastic turn.
“I overheard the maids saying that…” Butler Luke also looked confused. “It is mind-boggling, though, because the Young Master and the Young Miss should have finalized the divorce by now. One of the maids overheard them speaking about it on the night of your birthday party.”
There was so much information that Grandpa Winston’s weak heart couldn’t handle.
First of all, his stupid son wanted to hurt Heidi. The bodyguards were changed without his knowledge and the devastating news that his grandson wanted to be engaged to a girl he didn’t approve of.
“Master, are you alright?” Butler Luke was frightened, seeing Grandpa Winston holding his chest tightly.
But he got no reply from the old man, who passed out all of a sudden.
At StriveStyle Co.
The private jet hadn’t even landed yet when Heidi received the news that another scandal was about to break out at the brand.
She and Isla hurried down the hallway, rushing up to the company’s rooftop.
“Ms. Olsen, we have to stop her. We can’t let anything happen to her,” Isla panted heavily.
Heidi also struggled to keep her breathing normal as she fiddled with her phone. “I hope the police arrive soon.”
She tried to dial the security department, but no one answered the call.
On arriving at the rooftop, all the employees were gathered there as well as the security men.
“Ms. Olsen, this is bad. If she jumps to her death, this brand will be gone for good.” An employee approached, his eyes wide with apprehension.
Sitting on the edge of the rooftop was a middle-aged woman bawling her eyes out.
“Since you don’t want to bring my husband out, you will be responsible for my death! I don’t want to live anymore. In this harsh world where criminals are allowed to roam freely, I don’t want to live anymore!”
