Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 70 by HusnaS

70. Grandpa’s Orders

Putting on a gloomy look, Tracy tugged at Lucas’s arm, pulling his attention. In a sad tone, she said, “Heidi seems to have moved on already. That man must be treating her well. I hope he can distract her from trying to harm me from now on.”

Lucas clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles made a cracking sound.

Tracy added fuel to the fire, by adding the words, “How unfortunate. Instead of conserving her beauty, Heidi keeps throwing herself at different men. I don’t blame her anyways, the world must be cruel and harsh to desperate orphans. They can do anything to survive.”

Even at the risk of losing their dignity?

For the first time, Lucas glared at Tracy. Her body shuddered, and she quickly let go of his arm. “I- I didn’t mean to put it that way, however, that’s the obvious explanation, right?”

“I’m just speaking the reality which you know of.” Tracy dropped her head, looking offended. “It’s not like I have any grudge against Heidi to speak bad of her.”

“You’re thinking too much,” Lucas said and walked to his car.

Tracy hurried after him, not quite comprehending the meaning behind his words.

“Where are you off to?” She asked.

“To take care of some business.”

Tracy hurried to the driver and told him to take her things inside the Villa, and then she hurried back and entered Lucas’s car.

“Can I accompany you? I also feel hungry and crave some seafood and vegetables. I have heard that there are many great restaurants around here, can you please take me to one?”

Lucas started the without saying yes or no, evidently mad.

As they drove out of Crescent Avenue, Tracy trailed her fingers down his arm, her voice silky and soft. “From now on, I’ll start eating healthy food, so I can prepare my body to carry a healthy child. We shouldn’t delay about having a baby, right? After this engagement, we can-”

The car came to a screeching halt, and Tracy bumped her head on the seat’s headrest. “W-What is wrong?” She stammered, enduring the pain.

“The engagement… Who spread that news?” Lucas gripped the steering wheel, his jaws clenched, and his eyes staring ahead.

Tracy swallowed a gulp, her expression paling. “Y-You mean our engagement that is bound to happen in three days?”

“Yes.” His tone was a little bit harsh, making her question why he seemed displeased.

“I- I’m not sure yet, but I think it was Grandpa Winston who ordered it.”

Lucas couldn’t believe his ears. He glanced sideways at her, his eyes filled with questions. Grandpa Winston would never order such a thing.

“Why do you think that?” He asked.

“Well…” Tracy avoided his gaze. “I met Grandpa Winston yesterday, he treated me a bit well. He- He also told the servants to take care of me, so maybe Grandpa doesn’t dislike me anymore.”

While speaking, Tracy gave him a hopeful look. “I’ve been praying for Grandpa’s affection for so long. I think my prayers have finally been answered.

A big frown formed on Lucas’s face.

Grandpa Winston ordered his engagement with Tracy.

Had he changed his mind about her, finally?

As he pondered those words, he resumed driving.

Tracy stared at him sullenly, and she let out a sigh. “Aren’t you happy that Grandpa Winston now approves of me? I worked so hard to gain Grandpa’s favor.”

“Of course, I’m happy,” Lucas murmured. “I told you not to worry, by the way. Grandpa would approve of you.”

“I’m so happy too, Honey.” Tracy smiled. “I can’t wait for the engagement to happen, then I can move into the Harrisons Mansion to serve Grandpa for a while.”

“It’s not mandatory,” Lucas grumbled. He was supposed to be happy, why then did he feel a different emotion?

A familiar car suddenly appeared in front of his car.

“But I wish to serve him.” Tracy smiled. “I’ll prove to Grandpa that I’m capable of managing the Household in the future.”

Lucas didn’t answer, his eyes fixed on that familiar car.

The car pulled over in front of a tall building, and once again, Steve came out and opened the door for Heidi, his eyes beaming with affection.

“Lucas, what’s wrong?” Tracy asked worriedly.

“Didn’t you say you were hungry?” Lucas pressed the brakes. “There seems to be a restaurant nearby.”
