Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 39 by HusnaS

39. Abandoning Grandpa

At StriveStyle Co.

Isla showed more reports to Heidi through her tablet’s screen.

“LuxéAura, VerveC, EclatE; These are the major fashion brands and most popular across the country. Kate Anderson has worked with the two others in the past, and is currently working with LuxéAura which is the biggest.”

“I have been looking into Kate Anderson’s past these few days,” Isla added. “You can’t believe it, Ms. Olsen. But there’s a rumor that her family’s origin is in this city.”

On hearing that piece of information, Heidi’s doubts all washed away.

Her eyes lit up and she opened her mouth to speak but her phone’s ringtone interrupted.

Seeing Grandpa Winston’s name on the screen, Heidi answered the phone instantly.

“Heidi, are you busy? Will you keep Grandpa company on the phone?”

“Why not, Grandpa? What’s up? How’s your health now?”

“Since I stopped taking hospital food, I feel much better. But I don’t like the food the servants prepare sometimes. Heidi, when will you do me the honor of tasting your high-class pastries?”

Heidi laughed, and Grandpa Winston added. “I might start losing my teeth soon, who knows? You have to make me one, okay?”

“My birthday is near. What gift are you preparing for me?”

“Grandpa, it’s a secret. If I tell you what the gift is, won’t it lose its appeal even before you unbox it?”

“Haha, well, I don’t care about any gift. Just make sure you’re at my birthday party. You must look like a member of the Harrison family also and look very presentable. Once you wear the heirloom, no one will differentiate you.”

Heidi’s heart sank as Grandpa Winston continued speaking.

It was obvious that Grandpa Winston wanted her to wear that jewelry.

“Ms. Olsen, are you alright?” Isla asked, noticing Heidi’s pale expression after the call ended.

Heidi rubbed her forehead and sighed. ” Isla, do you know any exceptional jewelry designer?”

Isla looked confused. “Ms. Olsen, are you planning to collaborate with a jewelry designer to join hands with StriveStyle Co.?”

“Not really. It’s a personal issue.”

Three Days Later.

The Harrison Mansion was buzzing with the sounds of cars and people’s noises.

Grandpa Winston’s quarters was decorated, and the large hall standing in the middle of the field was filled with people.

Still, many more guests were still arriving.

In a sleek dark suit, and a gold wristwatch and spectacles, Grandpa Winston sat on his chair, exuding charm and elegance.

The Old Man’s polished appearance and the lively air around him attracted all the guests towards him, handing out their gifts and wishing him long life and prosperity.

Amidst the chatters, Grandpa Winston looked distracted as he constantly glanced at the entrance.

“When is Heidi coming, Luke?”

“Master, I haven’t been in touch with the former Young Miss. I don’t know when she’ll come,” the Butler, who was standing near him responded.

Grandpa Winston’s eyes dimmed, and he glared at the Butler. “Why do you call her former Young Miss? Have you lost faith in my grandson?”

The Butler blinked, not knowing what to reply.

Grandpa Winston sighed heavily. ”

Heidi promised to come. I even called and reminded her. Do you think she’s not going to come?”

The Butler cleared his throat. “The former- I mean, the Young Madam is only human. If she’s hurt tremendously by the Young Master, it is understandable that she won’t want to be near him. Isn’t the Young Master also coming?”

“You-” Grandpa Winston pointed a trembling finger at him. “Do you mean Heidi wants to abandon me? What do you know?”

The Butler was speechless. He wanted to defend himself when a commotion came from the entrance. All heads turned, and Blake Harrison entered the venue with Stella by his side.

“Dad, Happy birthday,” Blake Harrison said in a monotone voice, handing his gift to the Butler.

“Happy birthday, Dad.” Stella smiled sweetly. After extending her gift, she leaned down to kiss Grandpa Winston’s cheek.

As Stella got closer, what looked like a pendant shone brightly from her chest. And then, that pendant came into full view and it turned out to be a several diamond jewelry, studded inside finely polished gold links.

Grandpa Winston was beyond enraged. His face turned red, and he thundered, “Where did you get this jewelry!?”
