132. The AG Group’s CEO
Heidi’s brows knitted into a frown of confusion. She gestured to the bed, nodding cautiously. “Sit down. I’m listening.”
“Will you come to the AG Group tomorrow?” Natalie said, sitting down.
“Why do you ask?” Heidi asked, trying to read Natalie’s blank expression.
But Natalie only murmured, “Just come. You’ll see.” Then she stood up and left, leaving Heidi wondering if something was wrong with her.
Not long after Natalie walked out, Her mother came into the room.
“What was she doing in your room, Heidi?” Regina had seen Natalie leaving Heidi’s room on her way here. ” I hope she didn’t pick a fight.”
“Natalie rarely picks a fight.” Heidi shook her head, indicating that nothing happened.
Regina let go of the matter because it wasn’t what brought her anyway. She sat on the bed beside Heidi, giving her an inquisitive look. “Is it true that you’ve got a suitor, Heidi?”
“Huh? What suitor?” Heidi blinked.
“Come on, don’t try to deny it.” Her mother flicked her on the forehead. “І should ask you instead, how deep is your relationship?”
“Who told you that, Mum?” Heidi asked, massaging her temples.
“I have eyes and ears everywhere. Isn’t he the Young Master of the Andersons Family? I heard they’ve regained their fame in GreyHills City. His younger sister, the supermodel, also happens to be your best friend. She was that cute meatball you always played with when you were little.”
It was scary how her mother knew too much. “Mum! Where did you hear all ‘that?”
“Stop questioning me. I want you to invite him to the house as soon as possible. I am sure your grandfather and the rest will like him.”
Heidi lay down on the bed, the fatigue weighing her down. “There’s nothing between Steve and I. Don’t jump to conclusions.”
“If there’s nothing between you and Steve, why would he bring you red flowers?” Regina clicked her tongue. ”
Heidi, you aren’t planning to remain a divorcee in this family forever, right? You know he’s the best candidate, such men are rare to find, especially a fresh bachelor who willingly courts a divorced lady.”
Her mother went on. “It is better if you introduce him to the family soon so you can get married. If not, there are many socialites ready to mock us that Lucas Harrison divorced a child from this family, meaning we aren’t good enough.”
“Alright, Alright.” To prevent her mother from pestering her further because Heidi was also feeling sleepy, she gave in to her request. “I’ll invite Steve here.”
The Next Day.
Heidi didn’t stop thinking about Natalie’s strange request. So instead of heading to StriveStyle Co., she asked the driver to take her to the Group.
When Heidi arrived at the AG Group, she found Natalie’s assistant already waiting at the reception.
“Good morning, Ms. Olsen. Please allow me to lead the way.”
And the assistant led her to a conference room where the board of directors all sat across one large table.
It wasn’t only the board of directors that were present, other higher-ups were there including the minor employees.
There were hoards of paparazzi standing at the back of the room, flashing their cameras at the stage.
And standing on the stage was Natalie who was giving a speech.
Heidi arrived just in time to hear Natalie saying,
“I know, today is the day I am supposed to assume the new office as the CEO of the Group. However, Gentlemen, I’m afraid to break this to you that I can’t assume the position.”
“We all know there has been some corruption going on in this Group. Due to the injustice, the AG Group is facing constant backlash. As I step down, I announce the rightful person for this position, Heidi, as the CEO of the AG Group!”
