“But, Aunt Yan, will you be able to win Uncle Qing’s heart?” There was a lot of hesitance in his question because he thought that she could not succeed in her quest.
Yan looked at Little Bean and reached out to caress his cheek. “What do you mean? I thought I have you as my powerful assistant. As long as you are willing to help, I can definitely win over his heart!”
Little Bean blinked. It was evident that one could read his emotions just by looking at his eyes. “Alright. We are arriving at Uncle Qing’s company. Just remember to help me out.”
On the other hand, after Ye Moxuan heard that Han Muzi had made arrangements for Little Bean, he did not turn around and instead drove to the direction of Seabay Villa.
She had only visited Seabay Villa once after returning to the country. Both of them still had not reconciled the last time she was at Seabay Villa for the design project. Time flew so quickly.
The breeze at night was chilly due to the villa’s proximity to the sea. Han Muzi sat on the wooden plank in her pajamas and stared at the sea under the moonlight, her emotions gradually calming down.
The calm aura of the sea at night possessed the ability to soothe one’s emotions, but it was just as turbulent once there were high tides. As the breeze picked up speed, Han Muzi felt a little cold and wrapped her arms around herself before she huddled herself up. It did little to keep the cold away. The breeze was much stronger and cold here than it was in the city. Just as and when she was about to return to the villa, a tall figure sat next to her and draped a warm coat on her.
She glanced sideways and noticed that it was a freshly showered Ye Moxuan beside her. His skin was a little flushed from the hot shower and his thin lips were tightly pressed together with his hair dripping with water.
Han Muzi frowned. “Why didn’t you dry your hair first?” The breeze is so strong. Does he think that he is made from iron?
Ye Moxuan’s eyes shone brightly as he said in a flat tone, “It’s okay. I have a strong body, but look at you. Don’t you know that you should wear more layers when you’re sitting here at night?”
She shrugged. “If I feel cold, I’ll enter the villa on my own.”
“But you, on the other hand, just finished your shower, or—” she said as she got up, but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.
“Hey!” His movement was a little rough, sending her into his arms. When her soft cheeks slammed into his chest, she screamed out in pain.
As he had just taken his shower, his body still had the fragrance of the soap and it felt warm in his embrace. The chill that she felt quickly dissipated as a result of being hugged.
“What’s wrong?” Han Muzi asked after noticing that something was off about him.
He lowered his head and buried his head in her neck. Droplets of water dripped from his hair onto her neck, causing her to subconsciously shiver. She heard him whispering his apology when she tried to push him away. “I’m sorry.”
Han Muzi was stunned as she thought that she had heard it wrongly. He… is saying sorry to me now?
The whisper came from her neck, but it was quite muffled because his thin lips were pressed against her skin, so she could not hear it clearly. She merely tried to identify the exact words that he had said based on his tone.
“Are you… apologizing to me?” she asked, feeling incredulous.
His hands reached to her waist and held her slender waist as his voice became hoarse. “Yes, I am. Will you forgive me?”
She thought for a while and said, “Because of what has happened these few days?”
He did not give a definitive answer and instead hugged her tightly. She felt that there was something he wanted to say, so she did not ask him again. She just allowed him to hold her in the silence, listening to his strong heartbeat while waiting for him to speak.
Only the sound of the evening breeze, the waves crashing against the beach and the sound of their breathing were heard on a quiet night like this.
His embrace made Han Muzi feel that she was no longer cold. She leaned in his arms and waited until she was about to fall asleep before he broke the silence. “From now onward, I will give you all my trust.”
It was not easy for both of them to reach their current stage. If trust was not established between the both of them, their relationship could collapse soon.
“Do you mean… all of your trust?” The trust between Ye Moxuan and I? We don’t really spend much time together. If we are able to give each other a little more trust, we probably wouldn’t have gotten to this point in the first place. This is like five years ago…
“Okay. Even if you know something in the future, you are not allowed to suspect me anymore.” Han Muzi thought for a while before she concurred.
He nodded with a smile. “I will give you all of my trust in the future. Even if I die, I would not doubt you anymore. But…” He suddenly changed the topic. “You still have to stay away from Ye Linhan. What I told you at the airport before was true. ”
“I know.” Han Muzi nodded. “I will keep a distance from him.”
After she knew Ye Linhan’s identity and Ye Moxuan’s past, she felt that it would be too fake if there were no animosity between the brothers.
Ye Moxuan’s behavior had always been normal, but Ye Linhan, on the other hand… He had always looked like a gentleman. Although he had never said anything bad about Ye Moxuan in front of her, his actions looked as if he intended to separate her and Ye Moxuan. His thoughts on this were very clear.
Han Muzi closed her eyes and secretly made a decision. She did not want to be the victim between the two brothers and she did not want Ye Moxuan to be in a difficult position. If the two of them wanted to fight, she would just let them do so—fair and square.
“Why did you suddenly become so obedient?” Ye Moxuan let go of her and pinched her chin.
Han Muzi blushed and bit her lower lips as she glared at him. His eyes were dim and his thin lips twitched into a slight smirk. “After I have been neglecting you for three days, you realized that you still care about me very much, and—”
Before he finished speaking, she interrupted him. “Enough. Are you very proud of yourself because I took the initiative to come to you first?”
He leaned over and pressed his forehead against hers as he softly laughed. “What do I have to be proud of? Who was the one who came to find me but gave in after less than a few words? If it wasn’t me who held you back, you would have run off earlier.”
Han Muzi retaliated, “Who asked you to play hard to get each time?”
“I won’t do it again.” Ye Moxuan held her cheeks with both his hands. His black irises were quite clear and bright in the night as he brought his face closer to her, huffing his warm breath on her face.
“All my passion will be given to you in the future,” he said.
His eyes blazed with fire. On top of that, the close distance between them made her blink as she couldn’t resist him. He kissed her passionately when she wanted to get away from him.
