“N-No way. I promised Qi that I will not say anything!” Han Xueyou tried yanking her hand away, and her eyes were now brimming with tears.
“You promised Shen Qi?” Ye Moxuan squinted at her menacingly. “What did the two of you discuss without my knowledge?” he asked with a frosty tone.
Han Xueyou appeared as if she had just revealed a secret, and her eyes became as wide as saucers. “No, I wasn’t saying anything earlier, Young Master Ye. Shen Qi should be arriving here soon, so please let go of me. Just act as if nothing happened today.”
“What do you mean, act as if nothing happened?” Ye Moxuan grinned at her cruelly while tightening his grip around her wrist. “Do you take me for a fool? How dare you have the audacity of pretending in front of me when you are so bad at acting?”
Han Xueyou stared at Ye Moxuan in surprise. “B-Bad at acting?”
“Ha!” Ye Moxuan sneered at her. “You had better explain yourself well, because I am giving you only one chance.”
After hearing that, Han Xueyou knew that she had no choice but to drop her act. She lowered her eyes slowly to focus on the floor while calming her nerves. “I have my reasons for not telling you. I am Qi’s best friend, and you are her husband. I’ve known about this incident for a very long time but chose to keep it a secret because I didn’t want to hurt her. Young Master Ye, Qi is a very pitiful person, and I do not wish any harm to befall her in the future. Hence, can you please just forget about the entire incident?” Han Xueyou asked in a quiet voice.
“Tell me who was the woman that night.” Ye Moxuan wanted to know urgently.
I’ve requested for Xiao Su to search for that person for such a long time. All the news I’ve received previously was fake. However, it is too much of a coincidence now that Han Xueyou popped out of nowhere while claiming that she has information about it.
Han Xueyou bit her lower lip while she remained tight-lipped when she heard that.
“Spill!”
Han Xueyou was shocked by his booming voice, and tears came rolling down her cheeks. “I am sorry, Young Master Ye. I am so sorry, but I really can’t say. I cannot betray Shen Qi. So, Young Master Ye, can you please forget about today?” She sobbed.
The two of them were conversing when they heard footsteps outside. Soon, they heard Shen Qi calling out from afar. “Xueyou, are you here?”
With that, Han Xueyou’s expression changed drastically, but just when she was about to shove Ye Moxuan away, he had let go of her hand swiftly before rolling his wheelchair away to put a large distance between the two of them.
Han Xueyou could tell clearly that Ye Moxuan did all that reflexively. Initially, she merely wanted to pretend, but she did not expect Ye Moxuan to act quicker than her, and so the color drained from her face.
It is obvious… that Ye Moxuan cares for Shen Qi!

To be honest, Shen Qi tried to calm down in the garden for a very long time. In the end, she realized that she did not have the courage, and that was why she decided to return to Han Xueyou while pretending that she was oblivious to everything.
Shen Qi saw Han Xueyou the moment she pushed the door open, whereas Ye Moxuan was by the windows. Everything in the room appeared the same, as if nothing had happened earlier.
“I thought you weren’t here.”
“I just arrived, and I assumed that you were here. I didn’t expect you to be back so late.”
“Mm-hmm.”
Han Xueyou observed Shen Qi for a while, and she felt relieved after confirming that everything seemed normal.
I… don’t plan to let Shen Qi find out so early on to avoid any possible hitches in the future.
Ye Moxuan’s lips twitched, but he stayed by the window. He glanced at Shen Qi from the corner of her eyes, and he frowned deeply when he realized that she seemed unfazed.
Is this woman a fool? Isn’t she suspicious at all, seeing as her best friend is in the same room as her husband?
Hmph, she is a woman without a sense of crisis, and she truly is as dumb as a doorknob, Ye Moxuan sneered in silence.
“It’s late now, so I think I’d better head home for today, and I’ll visit you some other day.” Han Xueyou thought to herself, I should call it a day. After all, I’ve achieved my goal in front of Ye Moxuan. Next, I just have to lure him in.
Shen Qi nodded her head after a pause. “Sure, let me walk you out.”
After that, she accompanied Han Xueyou out, and she returned to the room after ten minutes. She did not go looking for Ye Moxuan because her mind was still in a mess, and it was filled with scenes of Ye Moxuan grabbing Han Xueyou’s wrist.

Shen Qi seemed to have gotten used to the term ‘Ms. Second-marriage’, and she acknowledged him once he called out for her.
“Why aren’t you questioning me?” Ye Moxuan asked her.
Shen Qi was dumbfounded by his question.
Ye Moxuan felt irritated when he saw how confused she was. Recently, this woman has been acting strangely. In the past, she would be worried and anxious once Han Xueyou got too close to me. She even warned me not to get involved with her.
But she is now eerily quiet.
“Damn it,” cursed Ye Moxuan under his breath. “Do you have nothing to say to me?” he spat in annoyance.
Shen Qi was stumped for a moment, and it took her a few seconds to understand what he was referring to. Hence, she lowered her eyes to stare at her fingers, as if deep in thought. “I have nothing to say to you.”
Ever since she had decided to let things be, she had also decided to speak less, and whatever Ye Moxuan did would not affect her much.
As long as they two of them are consenting adults.
Ye Moxuan’s annoyance increased rapidly when he saw how indifferent she was, and he shot daggers at her. “None?”
Shen Qi shook her head and reaffirmed her stand. “None.”
After that, she looked up to gaze at him, and her detached gaze seemed innocent. “Should I have something to say to you? Or do you have something you want me to say?”
