J-Jealous? “You are jealous because I left in the middle of the night and left you all alone at home. You felt empty and lonely, and that is why you are jealous, am I right?” Ye Moxuan was not rough, but he pinched her chin firmly, rendering her immobile.
Shen Qi tried struggling, but she couldn’t get out of his grip, and so she mustered whatever energy she had left to answer him. “Let me go, Ye Moxuan. You went looking for another woman in the middle of the night, and here you are, asking if I’m jealous. Either you are insane or I am going mad. Let go of me!”
Ye Moxuan’s eyes turned icy-cold, and he tightened his grip. “I am going insane, then. Tell me, are you jealous?” “I am not!” Shen Qi pushed hard against him. “Let go of me.”
“You have the audacity to claim otherwise?” Ye Moxuan smirked at her. “You are already so mad that you’re fuming.”
With that, Ye Moxuan lowered his head and kissed her square on her lips suddenly. His sudden actions shocked Shen Qi to her core, and so she stared back at Ye Moxuan in shock. Her fair cheeks blushed a deep red after a while.
“What are you doing?”
“If you are jealous, did you feel better after a kiss?” Ye Moxuan narrowed his eyes before he pressed his forehead against hers and asked her with a husky voice.
Shen Qi was so embarrassed that she was at a loss for words.
She stared at him in a daze for almost ten seconds before laughing self-deprecatingly. “What are you saying? You abandoned me in the middle of the night, and you were gone just because you said so. Why would you ask me to wait for you to come home when in the end you, you—?”
“Did you wait for me just because I asked you to?”
For some reason, Ye Moxuan was especially glad to see Shen Qi today, and he was particularly glad to see her jealous. Ye Moxuan thought that the woman before him right now was adorable, and it gave him even more reason to tease her.
However, he did not notice the changes in Shen Qi’s emotions.
Shen Qi looked at him while regarding his face coldly.
“Even though you waited for me last night, aren’t I back now?”
Shen Qi pursed her lips while thinking in silence, That’s right, I’ve waited for the entire night for nothing because he did not come back home. Now, he even has the audacity to claim that he is back now just because he has returned to the company. Shen Qi struggled violently when she thought of that while screaming, “Ye Moxuan, let me go! I know that you don’t take me seriously, but you shouldn’t have bullied me in that way. Do you always regard others as fools, and that everyone else has to obey and bow down to you? Let me go, let me go—Uh.”
Before she could finish her sentence, Ye Moxuan pressed his lips against her ruby-red lips aggressively. His hand roamed around her back while he caressed her, as if trying to sooth her temper.
Shen Qi’s pupils dilated when he started kissing her. Her chest was squashed against Ye Moxuan’s hard and sculpted chest, whereas her back felt hot with his touch.
In the beginning, his kiss was rather aggressive, but it soon turned into a tender and gentle one. He sucked her lips lovingly and tenderly, as if he was carefully savoring his beloved.
Gradually, Shen Qi seemed to be captivated by that intoxicating feeling, and her emotions calmed down.
Ye Moxuan moved his tongue and lips away from her while pressing his forehead against hers.
“Silly girl, in the future, if I ask you to wait for me, you should go ahead and sleep.”
Shen Qi felt as though he just poured a bucket of cold water over her after hearing that, and she snapped back to her senses. What was I expecting earlier? He is saying that this will happen again, and he would abandon me yet again to go gallivanting with other women.
When he is free, only then would he spare some time to soothe me.
In that case, I am just like a pet he keeps around, and he’d spend time and fool around with me only when he isn’t too busy. However, when he is busy, he wouldn’t bother sparing me another glance.
Unfortunately, I am not even Ye Moxuan’s pet.
”I still have matters to attend to, so you should leave for now.”
Before Shen Qi could respond, Ye Moxuan pulled her up and helped steady her on her feet. Ye Moxuan then turned his head away, whereas Shen Qi continued standing beside him while staring at him in a daze.
Ye Moxuan did not look up at her, but after a few moments, it seemed as if he recalled something all of a sudden. “Help me make a cup of coffee and bring it in.”
Shen Qi remained motionless while standing in the same spot.
Ye Moxuan seemed to have noticed something wasn’t quite right, and so he looked up at her.
Shen Qi felt even more horrible when she saw how sharp his gaze was. Hence, she turned around in silence and went to make him a cup of coffee.
After making his cup of coffee, Shen Qi returned to her desk. She stared unseeingly at the familiar computer of hers while feeling sorry for herself.
Shen Qi spent her entire morning in a daze while spacing out, and she went on in that manner until Yan came looking for her in the afternoon to have lunch together. Just when the two of them entered the elevator, they bumped into Han Xueyou, who was coming out of the elevator.
Shen Qi was rather surprised when saw Han Xueyou. “Xueyou, why are you here?”
Han Xueyou was stunned to silence for a while before finally stepping out of the elevator.
“Qi, were you alright during the annual dinner party?”
Shen Qi shook her head while replying, “I was fine.”
Yan, who was beside Shen Qi, blurted before she could stop herself, “What kind of a friend are you? Why are you asking now after such a long time? Fortunately, she is fine; if something bad had happened, wouldn’t you be just trying to gloat and put her down for checking on her now?”
“You!” Han Xueyou glared at Yan vehemently before biting her lip. “You have been hostile toward me ever since we first met. When have I offended you? If I recall correctly, we have never met before in the past, am I right?”
Han Xueyou even glanced at Shen Qi while asking Yan.
Shen Qi wasn’t sure if she was imagining things, but she felt that Han Xueyou’s gaze made it seem as though she was doubting her. Shen Qi’s pink lips parted just when she was about to explain herself.
But Yan broke the silence first. “Well, I don’t like your face. It’s not my fault that you have the type of face I dislike; that’s why I’ve been finding fault with you ever since we met. Do you have a problem with that?”
Han Xueyou was almost blinded by anger, but she suppressed her fury in the end. “Tsk, I am the Young Lady of the Han family, and so I would never stoop to the level of someone as insignificant as you. A person’s mentality is always associated with their status and position, so it is no wonder that you are still a negligible employee until now. You are truly despicable.”
“Oh.” Yan clung onto Shen Qi’s arm without backing off. “My honorable Miss Han, before you mock me, did you forget that your best friend, Shen Qi, is also a negligible employee? Do you think it is commendable of you to mock your best friend right in her face?”
Han Xueyou hadn’t thought of that because that was the first thing which came to mind when she was arguing with Yan, and she did not intend to drag Shen Qi into this fight at all.
The color drained from Shen Qi’s face, but she remained silent.
“I’m sorry, Qi, I didn’t mean to look down on you at all. But she—”
“Enough, both of you. Stop talking. Why are you here?”
“Well…” Han Xueyou smiled in embarrassment. “I’m here to see Young Master Ye.”
See Young Master Ye? Shen Qi looked at her in shock. “Are you here to meet him?”
“Qi, don’t overthink things. I’m here to meet him to discuss work matters. Are you guys going out for lunch? You should go ahead. I will join you once I’m done chatting with Young Master Ye.”
Shen Qi was hesitant, and she paused for a while before replying, “Oh, in that case, we will head downstairs first.”
“Mm-hmm.” Han Xueyou flashed Shen Qi an alluring smile before straightening her clothes. Then, she turned around and made her way to Ye Moxuan’s office.
After she was gone, Yan pinched Shen Qi violently. “Are you a fool? Are you really letting her meet Young Master Ye alone?”
“Huh?” Ye Moxuan looked at Yan at a loss. “W-What is the problem?”
“Just look at her; it is obvious that she is trying to seduce Young Master Ye, alright? Why are you so stupid?”
