“What’s wrong?” Jiang Xiaobai looked calm. “Do you not want to keep it?”
“Of course I want to keep it.” Xiao Su immediately kept the marriage booklets. Everything that just happened was like a dream to him. It was too good to be true.
“Do you mean… That?” Xiao Su asked hesitantly. However, he didn’t dare to ask if she didn’t want a divorce as he was afraid to mention the word ‘divorce’ in front of her.
Jiang Xiaobai felt funny when she noticed his cautious look.
“Half a year has already passed, but why are you still like this? Can you see what I’ve done during these six months?”
Jiang Xiaobai took a deep breath before explaining lightly, “Do you really think I have the time to play around with you for half a year? A woman’s youth is precious. Why do you think that I would stay with you if I don’t have feelings for you?”
These were words that Xiao Su never had the chance to hear during these six months.

His voice was low, as if the darkness of the midnight sky. “Thank you for giving me a chance and staying by my side. Marrying you is the greatest honor in my life. Don’t be worried as I’ll dedicate the rest of my life to treating you well.”
Jiang Xiaobai did not expect Xiao Su to confess something so touching. Luckily Liang Yahe was smart enough to bring the child downstairs. If it weren’t so, it would have been awkward for Xiao Su in front of his mother and his son.
“Come on. Stop annoying me.” Jiang Xiaobai pushed Xiao Su away. “I’m still eating now. Can’t you find a suitable timing when you want to talk about this? Your mother and son were both here, and you chose to take the marriage booklets out at this timing. What’s wrong with you?”

Jiang Xiaobai paused. She thought she heard something wrong as her feet stayed rooted to the ground.
Everything quieted down until only both of their breaths could be heard. It took Jiang Xiaobai a while before she could meet Xiao Su’s eyes again as she struggled to speak.
“What… did you just say?”
Jiang Xiaobai was pulled into an embrace by Xiao Su. Pressed against him, her ear was on his chest. She could hear his husband’s heartbeat as the sound of his heartbeat entered her ear and reached her heart.
Jiang Xiaobai could feel her body trembling as what Xiao Su said echoed through her ears. Her eyes felt hot, as if something was threatening to fall out, and she struggled to catch her breath.
Jiang Xiaobai was waiting for Xiao Su to say these words for ages.
However, right when she was about to lose hope, she finally heard it.
“Was it not clear? Let me say it again.” Xiao Su moved his lips and went closer to her ear and whispered, “I love you.”
Jiang Xiaobai finally broke into tears.
“To be honest, I had already developed feelings toward you a long time ago. It was just that I was oblivious about it and wasted half a year of it. It’s my fault for ruining half a year of your time.”
“I should have sorted out my feelings and confessed to you earlier.”
Jiang Xiaobai was so emotional she couldn’t say anything. She stared at Xiao Su with reddish eyes as tears continued falling off her face.
The two of them faced each other as Xiao Su reached out to wipe her tears off. “I’m sorry for making you suffer. Please stop crying anymore.”
Jiang Xiaobai’s eyes were red as she took a few deep breaths before she found her voice again.
“You can only love me from now onward. You can’t go around liking other people anymore.”
“Of course.”
“You also can’t give other women any second glances anymore.”
“Yes.”
After Xiao Su promised everything Jiang Xiaobai requested, he pulled her into his embrace. “My heart and body belong to you. What happened previously won’t ever happen again.”
Then, Xiao Su wiped her face clean. “Don’t be angry anymore. Isn’t it time to wear your wedding ring again?”
Jiang Xiaobai returned their wedding ring to Xiao Su during their previous fight, and Xiao Su only found out about it after she left.
Xiao Su had always kept the ring after that and never dared to mention it during the past six months until now.
Jiang Xiaobai stared at her empty ring finger at the mention of their wedding ring and reached out her hand before nodding at Xiao Su.
Jiang Xiaobai initially thought that Xiao Su would go to retrieve the ring. Who knew, Xiao Su took the ring out from his pocket and put it on Jiang Xiaobai in the next moment.
Jiang Xiaobai was speechless. “You really came prepared, huh?”
Xiao Su coughed slightly. “Everything is already prepared. I just need you to make the decision.”
“So you don’t mind either decision that I make, huh?” Jiang Xiaobai glanced at the wedding ring on her hand before raising her eyebrows at Xiao Su.
“Of course not.” Xiao Su had a strong sense of survival as he tried to argue, “Of course I hope that you can stay. However, I don’t want to force you to stay because I can’t stand seeing you being unhappy.”
Xiao Su was motivated because Jiang Xiaobai had been way happier during the past six months. If Jiang Xiaobai had been unhappy during the past six months, he probably would have broken down before Jiang Xiaobai did. Fortunately, that did not happen.
