As Jiang Xiaobai expected, Xiao Su came home with an entirely dry body.
The main lights in the house were off, but the dim yellow light at the corner of the room still shed light on the surrounding furniture. Xiao Su used to return to a completely dark house when he had to stay back for work, but since Jiang Xiaobai moved in, she made sure that the dim yellow light would be on, no matter how late it was when he returned.
Although it was a dim light, it was still the light that guided Xiao Su home in the late night.
Xiao Su unbuttoned his suit and left it on the side of the couch.
The sound of the room door being opened was heard as Jiang Xiaobai rubbed her sleepy eyes in a daze and walked out of the room, asking, “You’re home. What time is it now?”
“It’s already twelve. Why did you wake up?”
Xiao Su frowned as he realized what she was wearing. Jiang Xiaobai probably crawled out of bed in haste, so she was only in her pajamas. She had a habit of not wearing thick pajamas. Even during winter, she would just stick to the thin pajamas that she wore during summer.
She even came out of the room with her bare feet, without any socks on.
“Go back to bed before you catch a cold.”
In fact, Jiang Xiaobai woke up in the middle of her sleep because she had to use the toilet, but since she heard the sound of the door opening, she decided to go out and greet him before heading back to sleep. However, upon hearing Xiao Su’s gentle words of care, she felt so touched.
After all, he had to stay back till late at night in the office to finish his work, yet he still cared about her when he returned, which shows how this man still cares a lot about her.
Jiang Xiaobai was touched for a moment and asked, “Are you hungry? Do you want me to prepare something warm for you?”
Upon hearing her question, Xiao Su furrowed his brows. “You’re going to cook while wearing your pair of thin pajamas?”
“Are you silly? I’ll just put a jacket on.”
As she turned to get her jacket, Xiao Su walked toward her and held her shoulders. “Why the hassle? Didn’t I tell you to head back to sleep? It’s late now; I can prepare it myself.”
When he came toward her, she clearly felt the humidity and coolness of the rain on his body, so she subconsciously placed her hands on his.
She felt Xiao Su’s cold palm.
Jiang Xiaobai shivered as she felt the coldness of his palm since she had just crawled out from her warm sheets. Xiao Su noticed the shiver and immediately retracted his hand as he pursed his lips and muttered, “Go back to sleep.”
“Why are your hands so cold? Was it really cold outside?”
“It was a bit cold due to the rain, but it was okay.”
“Go and take a warm shower,” Jiang Xiaobai ordered.
Xiao Su raised his brows. “Why?”
“Go and take a warm shower to warm yourself up. How could a man like you have icy cold hands? Even my hands are warmer than yours!”
The sudden cold shoulder that she gave left Xiao Su in a daze.
He had to stay in the office till late at night to finish his work, and by the time he left the office, the sky was pouring. The chilly weather was what made his hands turn icy cold. How could she blame him for having cold hands when she just crawled out from her warm sheets?
Before he could defend himself, Jiang Xiaobai had already shoved him into the bathroom and slammed the door shut with a bang before ordering, “You’re not allowed to come out until your body is warm!”
Xiao Su stood in the bathroom thinking, Shouldn’t I get my clothes before I shower?
After all that happened, Jiang Xiaobai no longer felt sleepy. She headed back to the room to get her jacket and went to the kitchen to prepare something for Xiao Su.
Jiang Xiaobai decided to cook a bowl of warm noodles for Xiao Su to keep him warm despite the cold weather.
As she prepared the noodles, she glanced in the direction of the bathroom and muttered, “You better be grateful.”
She only wanted to come out and greet him before heading back to sleep, but why was she currently preparing supper for him? Hmph!
By the time Xiao Su was done showering, Jiang Xiaobai had finished preparing his supper.
She sat on the couch and placed the food on the table along with the cutlery. As soon as she saw Xiao Su coming out of the shower, she commanded him, “Come and eat your food now so that I can head back to sleep as soon as you finish.”
Xiao Su dried his hair and went over to sit in front of her.
“Go back to sleep,” Xiao Su said, looking at her tired face.
Jiang Xiaobai raised her brows upon hearing his words and snapped, “Why can’t I just stay and watch you eat the food that I prepared for you?”
What’s up with the temper? You can stay and watch if you want.
Xiao Su didn’t dare to make another sound. He obediently sat opposite Jiang Xiaobai and ate his food while she stared at him.
Although Xiao Su was a man, he still felt embarrassed to be stared at by his girlfriend as he ate. However, he just kept his mouth shut in case she got even more pissed off.
“Why are you not drinking the soup?”
Xiao Su immediately drank a few mouthfuls of soup but ended up burning his tongue because he forgot that the soup was still hot. Jiang Xiaobai couldn’t help but nag again, “Are you stupid or what? Why didn’t you take a sip to see whether the soup was still hot? Did you burn your tongue? ”
“…”
Xiao Su was rendered speechless.
However, Jiang Xiaobai still didn’t plan to let him go, so she poured him a glass of water and said, “Have some water so that the burn won’t hurt.”
Faced with her request, Xiao Su realized that he could not refute, so he took the glass of water from her and drank it, but the water was so cold that he ended up choking on it.
As expected, Jiang Xiaobai gave him a stern look.
“Why are you so weak? How could you even choke on water?”
Xiao Su raised his head and glanced at Jiang Xiaobai, who was busy nagging at him. A moment later, Xiao Su’s eyes darkened, and he placed the glass of water on the table as he suddenly stood up and walked over to Jiang Xiaobai. He bent over and placed his hands on the seat behind her to surround her.
“I said…” Jiang Xiaobai’s words abruptly stopped when she was taken aback by the sudden approach. Her eyes widened, staring at the handsome face in front of her. Her voice became tense. “What are you trying to do?”
“Why did you stop? Go on.” Xiao Su proceeded to lean forward as their breath lingered together. Jiang Xiaobai was dumbfounded.
“Hm?” Seeing that she was silent, Xiao Su raised his brows and asked, “Didn’t you have a lot to say? Now, go on.”
Jiang Xiaobai finally understood his intentions. He was trying to provoke her!
Are you trying to pick a fight with me? Do you think you can gain your dominance by defeating me? In your dreams! I, Jiang Xiaobai shall not let you win so easily, or else, I will change my last name to the same as yours!
As Jiang Xiaobai thought about it, she smiled and suddenly wrapped her arms around Xiao Su’s neck as she purred, “With your face so close to mine, what else can I say?”
