Little Bean saw Aunt Yan’s blind date walk toward him the moment he put his phone away. He quickly pulled himself together and found somewhere to sit down.
“Hey, little kid,” Li Sihan came over and sat down right in front of Little Bean, greeting him somewhat awkwardly. “I’m sorry about what happened earlier.”
Little Bean rolled his eyes. “Are you sorry about not treating me to anything to eat or because you misspoke?”
His words embarrassed Li Sihan, who thought it would not be difficult to deal with a kid. Who knew that this kid was too smart to be fooled? Nevertheless, he was, after all, still a kid. Li Sihan reckoned he should be able to coax Little Bean into forgiving him.
Li Sihan responded, “Actually, I didn’t lie to you. It’s just a matter of time. Plus, I’ll keep my promise about treating you to something to eat.”
“But I don’t want to eat ramen.” Little Bean blinked and put on a pitiful look.
“So, what do you want to eat then?” Li Sihan could tell that his blind date was close to this kid. To prevent him from saying anything nonsensical in the future, he had to find a way to buy him off.
“Will you buy me whatever I want to eat?” Little Bean flashed a sly smile.
“Of course.” Certainly, Li Sihan did not think it through. He assumed that he should be able to afford anything that a kid would want to eat. At most, he would have to spend up to a few hundred. But that was it.
“That’s your word then. Do you drive?”
“I do.”
“Alright, sir. I’ll let Aunt Yan know that you’re taking me out for a meal. Shall we go now?”
“Sure.” Looking innocent, Li Sihan had no idea what he had got himself into.
When Little Bean went up to Yan and informed her about this, she frowned gently. “He’s taking you out for a meal? Is that appropriate? You don’t even know him well. Don’t you feel bad spending his money?”
“Since he’s using me to win your heart, Aunt Yan, I’ll just let him do it.” Little Bean blinked in front of Yan, looking innocent and harmless.

After hanging up the phone, Li Sihan turned and looked at Little Bean. “Was that your Aunt Yan?”
The sound of the phrase ‘your Aunt Yan’ somewhat cheered Little Bean up. “That’s right. Aunt Yan’s a little worried about me.”
Li Sihan brushed his nose. “For sure. I’m to blame, really. I’m just her blind date, and now I’m taking a kid out with me. Did you send her the address already? Is she coming?”

“What if I order something too expensive?” Little Bean followed up.
How much can a kid spend on food? Li Sihan responded generously, “Don’t worry. You can order whatever you want. I’ll be able to afford it.”
“Alright, thank you then. It’s bustling in Aunt Yan’s shop; perhaps we shouldn’t take away her time.”
“Sure. That sounds good.” After he had bought off the kid and bragged about it to Yan, he reckoned he would stand a better chance in her eyes.
After hanging up the phone, Yan waited for the address from Little Bean. Five minutes later, she became worried when she still had not received the address from him. She sent a message to Little Bean reminding him of it. ‘Little Bean, where’s the address? Where are you guys now? How about just sending me the location directly?’
Little Bean intentionally delayed sending her the address as he had already updated Uncle Qing on his whereabouts. He even told Uncle Qing that he was going to spend some time with Aunt Yan’s blind date, secretly hoping that Uncle Qing would not be able to hold it any longer.
When Little Bean received the message on WeChat from Aunt Yan, he let out a mischievous look and replied, ‘Aunt Yan, we’re almost there. Just wait a little longer.’
