An Understated Dominance Chapter 2452 by Marina Vittori

“Get lost! I’m not in the mood for anything right now. If you want to eat, go on your own.” Warrick snapped, looking annoyed.

“I’m not going either,” Percival refused flatly. “I’m on a health regimen these days -only tea, no alcohol.”

“Fine. If you’re going to wait, then keep waiting. I won’t be sticking around.” Huxley forced a smile and acted like he was about to leave.

But as he turned, he almost bumped into Boston, who was approaching from the other direction.

“Sorry, Sir Thatcher! I hope I didn’t startle you.”

Since he was surrounded by so many high-ranking officials, Boston was already on edge. He had momentarily spaced out and almost caused a mishap by running into Huxley, which left him flustered and a bit tongue-tied.

Unlike the other generals, Boston didn’t come from an influential background or have any powerful connections. He had worked his way up from the bottom, and the last thing he wanted was to offend Huxley and risk losing everything he had fought so hard for.

Huxley frowned momentarily but quickly relaxed. He smiled and said, “It’s alright. You seem to be in a rush. Is something bothering you? Feel free to talk about it.”

A third-ranking official wasn’t a small fry. With another promotion, Boston would be able to become Huxley’s right-hand man. So, Huxley felt that offering a smile and extending a favor wouldn’t hurt.

“I’ve come to discuss something important with the prince, but I didn’t anticipate such an esteemed gathering. My apologies,” Boston said, forcing a smile.

“Oh? You’re also here to see the prince? How coincidental, we’re all here for that as well.” Huxley smiled.

“Who do you think you are, showing up here? Get lost!” Warrick growled.

His words made Boston freeze. He quickly nodded. “Y-Yes, I didn’t realize you were all having such an important discussion. I’ll… leave right away.”

He was about to make a quick exit, but Huxley raised a hand to stop him. “Don’t worry. Now that you’re here, you might as well stay.”

He then glanced at Warrick and smiled. ” Mr. Prescott, this man is your subordinate. He hasn’t done anything wrong. Why are you so harsh?

“Let him explain himself-what if he’s got some urgent military matter to report? If you send him away and it turns out to be important, you’ll be in trouble when the prince finds out.”

“Hmph! If you have something to say, just say it. Otherwise, you can take your nonsense elsewhere,” Warrick grumbled.

“R-Right,” Boston stammered. “It’s just that… Mr. Jovian from the Ballard family is visiting West Lucozia today, and he asked me to deliver a letter and request a meeting with the prince.”

After hearing that, the surrounding people burst into laughter.

“Mr. Jovian from the Ballard family? Never heard of him. He should just go back to wherever he came from!” Warrick said sharply.

If Simon had been here, he would have shown some respect. But Jovian was a spoiled brat, raised on his family’s wealth, so Warrick didn’t take him seriously.

“Hey! What do you think the West Lucozian monarchy is, huh? Do you think just any Tom, Dick, and Harry can waltz in? Ridiculous!” Percival scoffed.

The three first-ranking officials were still waiting outside, while some nobody-who probably came from some corner of nowhere thought he could come in and see the prince. It was absurd.

“Get lost! Stop embarrassing yourself. Just looking at you irritates me!” Warrick ordered Bolton to leave.

“Yes… yes. I’m leaving now.” Boston was sweating profusely and didn’t dare to wipe it off. He bowed his head and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, the castle’s red gate creaked open.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
