When Brian approached, the Celestial Alliance disciples quickly stepped aside to make way for him.
As the chief senior disciple, his strength was undeniable. In his 30s, he was already a grandmaster martial artist and held in high esteem within the Celestial Alliance.
If not for Fenley’s exceptional talents, Brian might’ve been considered for the position of the guildmaster’s successor.
“Hmph! They’re nothing but clowns and unworthy of my attention.” With a halberd in hand, Brian strode past the crowd
His expression was cold, and he said arrogantly, “Listen up! I don’t care who you are or what you want. Trespassing on our territory is a serious offense.
“I’m giving you the chance to surrender. If you don’t, you have only yourselves to blame for what happens next.”
The assassins’ leader made a silent hand gesture in response. Then, the assassins surrounded Brian and looked at him with deadly intent.
“Protect Brian!” The disciples of the Celestial Alliance were about to intervene, but Brian raised his hand to stop them. “No one moves. I can handle this trash alone!”
The disciples exchanged looks but ultimately backed off. They couldn’t defy Brian’s orders, so they stood in wait.
“I’m offering you a chance to escape, yet you insist on fighting. It appears you’re determined to learn it the hard way!” Brian’s expression grew grim.
He leisurely brought his halberd forward, revealing its imposing size and the intricate golden dragon etched upon it. In the moon’s glow, the dragon appeared almost animate, and its claws extended with a chilling gleam.
“Attack!” The assassins’ leader commanded. It was direct and to the point.
“Attack!” A squadron of assassins dressed in black charged forward with their weapons drawn.
Suddenly, the atmosphere resonated with the clash of metal and the intensity of their energy.
“Ember Strike!” Brian sneered.
He opted to advance rather than retreat. With determined strides, he dragged his halberd along the ground before lifting it with one hand and unleashing a swift horizontal slash.
A colossal crescent-shaped blade aura burst forth, which carried a terrifying lethality as it clashed with the approaching assassins.
The assassins didn’t retreat. Instead, they raised their weapons to counter the blade aura.
With a series of explosive sounds, their weapons shattered upon contact, and the shockwave sent them reeling. Before they could react, Brian’s blade aura had already pierced through their chests.
They only saw a flash passed before their eyes.
Several assassins at the front were instantly dismembered. Blood splattered everywhere, and severed limbs scattered across the ground.
Everyone was left dumbfounded as they watched the scene unfold.
“Holy crap! Is this what Brian is capable of? It’s absolutely frightening.”
“I’ve heard rumors of him being a grandmaster martial artist. But witnessing it firsthand, I can attest to its truth.”
“No wonder he didn’t want us to interfere. With his prowess, taking down these assassins is child’s play.”
After a moment of shock, the Celestial Alliance disciples were ecstatic.
They knew Brian was formidable, but they hadn’t fully grasped the extent of his power. With just one stroke, he had dispatched more than a dozen skilled assassins, which left them in awe.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen Brian in action, and it seems like he’s only gotten better,” Alicia remarked upon arriving and witnessing his prowess.
“Considering his current prowess, he should easily rank among the top three in the young generation of the Celestial Alliance, right?” Aurora narrowed her eyes thoughtfully.
“Yes. He could easily ascend to the position of guardian within our sect if he chose to. However, it appears he has other aspirations.” Alicia shook her head.
“His hesitation to advance is because of you,” Aurora teased with a knowing smile.
She continued, “If he remains as the principal disciple, he could seek Dad’s permission to propose to you. But if he were to become a guardian, the situation would change.”
The Celestial Alliance strictly adhered to hierarchy, with clearly defined relationships between different ranks.
As the principal disciple, Brian referred to Alloy as “Mentor.” However, if Brian were to be promoted to guardian, he would be required to address Alloy as Guildmaster,” which indicated a significant change in their relationship.
“Rascal! Don’t talk nonsense!” Alicia glared at her sister, then looked thoughtfully at Brian’s figure. “His interests go beyond just romantic pursuits. There’s a powerful ambition within him.”
She knew that while his attentiveness seemed genuine, it was more about her status than affection.
Despite appearing indifferent to fame and fortune, Brian had greater ambitions than anyone else. He wasn’t content with the role of guardian, and she could tell he was aiming for the highest position.
