An Understated Dominance Chapter 2221 by Marina Vittori

“I’m sorry. I can’t answer that question because I don’t know, either.” Hank shook his head. He was already breaking the rules by telling them about the God King’s involvement.

Furthermore, disclosing the God King’s identity or whereabouts was out of the question.

In Dragonmarsh, even someone as powerful as the God King had to tread carefully. Any hint of their whereabouts, followed by an ambush from elites, would spell disaster.

“No problem. It’s just a random question out of curiosity.” Dustin simply shrugged it off with a faint smile.

“If there aren’t any questions, how about we break for lunch? I’ve arranged a feast, and we can continue our conversation over food.” Hank extended an invitation with a neutral expression.

“Sure.” Dustin nodded.

“Let’s go, everyone!” Hank called out before leading the group to the dining hall.

Everyone was famished after waiting all morning. They immediately indulged in the feast laid out before them.

Once they were full, Hank organized various entertainment to keep everyone occupied. Yet, he kept the mission timing vague and advised them all to stay on standby.

Dustin understood it was a precaution by the Hall of Gods against leaks.

After lunch, he came up with an excuse and left. He deemed the visit quite fruitful.

He had discovered the Hall of Gods’ plan to infiltrate Sacred Wrym Summit’s forbidden ground and became a spy in the process. He was prepared to adapt to unforeseen circumstances.

He also knew he couldn’t take on the entire Hall of Gods team by himself. But he was ready to alert Sacred Wrym Summit if necessary and stopped the Hall of Gods’ scheme.

Back at the tavern, Dustin was surprised to see someone inside. It was a woman with a pretty face but a strange presence.

“You’re finally here?” he exclaimed in surprise.

As he assessed her appearance, he soon recognized who it was.

It was Grace, but she seemed different. She had changed her appearance again and assumed a different guise. If it weren’t for his keen insight, he might not have recognized her.

“Oh? You figured it out fast? I was hoping to tease you a bit,” she said with a faint smile. Then, she poured two cups of tea.

“Your appearance might change, but your vibe doesn’t. Unless you can hide it, I can always tell.”

Dustin sat down and took a sip of tea. ” So, how did it go? Are you finished with the task? Does the progress look promising?”

Grace smiled and replied, “Despite a few setbacks, everything’s been sorted out. The timing couldn’t be better, and I won’t miss the Combat Tournament.”

“Oh! What about that assassin I sent you? Is the beast transformation natural, or is it the result of elixirs?” he asked.

Predator’s beast transformation ability was unnerving. It directly broke through three levels from a grandmaster martial artist to reach the level of an ultimate grandmaster.

Even for someone as knowledgeable as Dustin, encountering such an anomaly was unprecedented.

“It’s still being analyzed, and I’m not certain of the details yet. But rest assured, I’ll keep you updated,” Grace assured him.

Equipped with a detailed report of that night’s events, she promptly assembled a team of experts for a thorough investigation.

If Predator’s beast transformation ability could be cultivated, it would be a groundbreaking discovery.

Moreover, if every soldier on the battlefield could access beast transformation through elixirs, it would lead to a massacre with one side dominating completely.

“This assassin is extremely valuable, and you have to keep an eye on him. It would be a huge loss if he had been rescued by others,” he reminded.

“Don’t worry. I’ve found a secure location. No one will discover it.” She smiled.

“There’s one more thing I need to discuss with you,” Dustin said. “This morning, I saw people from the Hall of Gods. They’re planning to break into the forbidden ground of Sacred Wrym Summit to search for treasures.”

“The Hall of Gods?” Grace raised her eyebrows.

She said, “These guys have never had good intentions. I anticipated they would cause trouble at the Combat Tournament, but I didn’t expect their target to be the rare treasures within the forbidden ground.”

“The news about the rare treasures has already spread, so it’s not surprising that the Hall of Gods is taking action. Although we’re unsure of when they’ll strike, I estimate it will be within the next few days. How do you plan to handle this?” he asked.

The Hall of Gods will only act during the Combat Tournament because it’s the busiest time at Sacred Wrym Summit and the easiest to exploit.

“We’ll wait and see,” Grace said solemnly. “The members of the Hall of Gods are lurking everywhere, and if we try to clear them out one by one, it’ll alert them. So, we must wait for the right moment.

“I’ll prepare in advance for this. For the next few days, I need you to keep an eye on the members of the Hall of Gods. Once the timing is right, we’ll capture them all at once!”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
