Willem’s attack came swiftly, and its speed surprised Jasper.
A blur of movement, a flash of crimson, and suddenly, a chill crept up Jasper’s arms. He glanced down, only to find his arm guards cracked, and blood seeped out.
The clang of metal hitting the ground echoed as his spear fell, followed by the crisp sound of his arms hitting the floor.
“What?”
His eyes widened in shock as he gazed upon his severed limbs. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. With a surge of disbelief, he slowly lifted the two severed parts, blood spurting from the wounds, each drop adding to his agony.
“Ah!”
After a moment of silence, Jasper’s piercing scream shattered the calm. It echoed hauntingly like a ghostly wail.
Unlike Willem, who possessed immortality and limb-regeneration abilities, Jasper was completely defenseless. With his arms severed, he felt utterly helpless and useless.
Willem’s ominous chuckle filled the air. His figure, drenched in blood, resembled a demon emerging from the depths of hell.
Fear overwhelmed Jasper, and he collapsed to the ground. His legs scrambled backward in a desperate attempt to retreat, and his face contorted in sheer horror.
“D-Don’t come any closer!” he pleaded desperately, his voice tinged with thinly veiled threats. “I’m a high- ranking general of Glorian! If you dare to kill me, Glorian will hunt you down and make you pay!”
“Really? I can’t wait to see how Glorian plans to retaliate,” Willem taunted.
His expression twisted with sadistic delight as he extended his tongue to lick the blood off his nails. “Your blood is delicious. I can’t wait to suck you dry!
“You… you dare!” Jasper’s voice trembled with panic. “If you dare kill me, Glorian will stop at nothing to hunt you down!”
“Food delivered right to my doorstep? That’s perfect.” Willem chuckled darkly. With eyes glowing a deeper red, he slowly advanced toward Jasper.
“You monster! Get away from me!” Jasper’s cries for help echoed as he backed away. “Someone! Quickly! Kill this monster!”
In response to Jasper’s distress, the remaining silver-armored guards abandoned their defensive formation. They dropped their shields and raised their spears as they charged toward Willem.
“Attack!” Their collective roar filled the air as they fearlessly charged.
“Ah, this is just perfect!” Willem laughed heartily. He licked his lips in anticipation of the feast before him.
Then, his body morphed into a swarm of bloodthirsty bats and descended upon the silver-armored guards like a dark cloud. The slaughter unfolded swiftly.
In less than three minutes, the ground was painted crimson with the blood of the fallen guards, not a single one left standing.
As the bats regrouped, Willem emerged again in his human form. He stood drenched in blood, and his presence was even more menacing than before.
“Now, it’s your turn,” Willem declared, fixing his intense stare on Jasper again.
Quaking with fear, Jasper abandoned all pretense of courage. “P-Please… spare me… I surrender!”
At that moment, he finally understood that Willem was indifferent to his pleas and empty threats.
