“Sir, is Bailey trustworthy?” After the departure of the members of the Hall of Gods, a one-eyed warrior asked in a lowered voice.
“Trust no one except for those from the Alessandro family.” Anthony shook his head.
The Grizz Lord, Bailey, whom he knew before was a loud and proud but mindless person. However, he seemed to have changed a lot now.
“Sir, if Bailey isn’t trustworthy, are we still going to work with him?” The one- eyed warrior continued asking.
“Of course.” Anthony narrowed his eyes and continued, “It doesn’t matter if it’s Kimboku or the Hall of Gods from the West, we have the same enemy which is Dragonmarsh!
“What we need to do is to wreak havoc on Dragonmarsh and impede its development. With this pretext, it doesn’t matter if we have our own plans. We’ll work together as long as we share the same goal!”
“Understood!” The one-eyed warrior nodded heavily. In other words, the supposed corporation was just them using each other to achieve their own goal.
“Hurry up and go get ready. The meeting tonight is very important. You must pay attention to everything in our environment and don’t say a word of this to others,” Anthony ordered.
“Alright, noted!” The one-eyed warrior responded and left with the rest of the team. Soon, it was nightfall. Anthony had prepared some snacks in anticipation of Bailey’s visit.
The Grizz Lord, Bailey, knocked on his door a little bit before eight.
The only difference was that Bailey had kept a very low profile for this visit when compared to his visit in the morning. In addition to wearing a hood and a mask, he only brought along two of his trusted subordinates.
“Mr. Bailey, I’ve been expecting you. Please come in.” Anthony got up to welcome Bailey and his subordinates and invited them into the living room.
“Mr. Alessandro, I’m sorry to have kept you waiting.” Bailey sat down comfortably and reminded him, ” Please be sure to keep tonight’s meeting a secret. Please inform your warriors to be on high alert and say nothing about this to anyone.”
“Please don’t worry, Mr. Bailey. I have my informants all over the place and nothing can happen without me knowing.” Anthony reassured him.
“Very good. It’s my pleasure to be working together with reliable partners like you.” Bailey nodded with a smile.
“Mr. Bailey, didn’t you say that you were going to bring some friends over? Why are you here alone tonight?”
Anthony asked curiously. “Relax, Mr. Alessandro. My friends are on their way here and should be arriving shortly.” Bailey lifted his glass to sip some wine.
As he spoke, a huge and dark shadow that was shaped like a crane flew across the night sky above the yard. It was very silent and very fast. It was very hard to trace like a ghost.
“Who’s that?” The pupil of the one- eyed warrior constricted as he ran after the shadow with his sword.
Anthony was about to get up when Bailey stopped him by raising his hand. “Mr. Alessandro, calm down. I smell a familiar scent, that should be my old friend arriving.”
“Old friend?” Anthony raised his eyebrows slightly and didn’t say too much.
As he ran out of the living room, the one -eyed warrior kept his eye on the moving shadow. He wasted no time as he leaped up high and swung his sword at the shadow.
The sword glistened in the dark as it sliced through the shadow. However, instead of blood splattering everywhere, the shadow that was sliced through transformed into a cloud of bats and flew away.
The cloud of bats swarmed the sky and earth as they scattered. Very soon, they gathered and formed a dark silhouette of a human behind the one-eyed warrior.
The silhouette wore a blood-red cape and remained hidden in the dark. As such, it was difficult to see the face. Only very skilled fighters could detect the imposing and terrifying aura emanating from the silhouette.
After the silhouette reappeared, it ignored the one-eyed warrior and walked into the living room right away.
