Amidst the bustling crowd, Julie strolled in confidently, flaunting a designer bag and expensive high heels. She was accompanied by two attentive male assistants and surrounded by a dozen bodyguards. It looked as if she was a wealthy heiress.
“Why is she here?” Dustin pondered. After a period of absence, Julie appeared to have undergone a substantial style upgrade, exuding an aura of affluence but lacking refinement. So, she looked more like a nouveau riche.
“Do you know her, Sir?” inquired Abigail, her curiosity piqued.
“An old acquaintance, but we’re not on good terms,” responded Dustin.
“No wonder… seeing her face, I already feel uneasy,” muttered Abigail, her displeasure evident.
“People of Camron Medicals, listen up! Get your boss out here; I want to discuss a major deal with her!” Julie declared as she removed her sunglasses, her voice echoing loudly.
“Hey! Who do you think you are? Don’t you understand the concept of first come, first served?” a man in a suit complained. “So many people are waiting to place orders; could you please line up?”
“Line up?” snorted Julie as she walked forward with her high heels and slapped the man in the suit.
“Who do you think you are? How dare you ask me to line up?”
“You slapped me? I’ll-“The man in the suit was about to retaliate, but several bodyguards immediately rushed forward and forcefully restrained him to the ground.
“You have a lot of nerve! How dare you touch me? Do you know who I am?” The man struggled and cursed.
“Oh? Let me ask you, who are you?” Julie looked down on him.
“Listen carefully! I’m from the prestigious Carmen family. If you dare touch me, you’re basically challenging the Carmen family. Can you bear the consequences?” The man shouted.
“What? The Carmen family?” The crowd began to murmur.
“That woman is in trouble for hitting someone from the Carmen family. Let’s see how she ends up!”
“Humph! She is just a nouveau riche, thinking that hiring a few bodyguards allows her to do whatever she wants. She’s asking for trouble!”
The Carmen family was one of the Eight Great Families. Although not as powerful as the Langford and Dawson families, it still ranked among the top families. For an ordinary nouveau riche to offend the Carmen family, it meant a dead end.
“What’s the matter? Scared? Release me immediately, or are you prepared to face the consequences?” The man in the suit threatened angrily.
“Scared?” Julie laughed and lifted her foot, stomping on the man’s face with her high heel. She said disdainfully, “The Carmen family? So what? How is that impressive? That’s not even worth mentioning!”
“Damn! How dare you look down on the Carmen family? Who are you?” The man in the suit was furious.
“Well, I am a member of the Moseys. Can you, from the small Carmen family, afford to offend me?” Julie arrogantly declared.
“What? The Moseys?” The revelation shocked everyone. Nobody expected that Julie had such a background. The Mosey family was one of the Four Ancient Houses. As the head of the family, Seamus Mosey had outstanding military achievements and a formidable reputation.
He was among the only three in Dragonmarsh with this uncommon family name. His influence was vast, his reputation was unparalleled, and even the King treated him with respect. If someone could establish a connection with Seamus, their entire family would ascend to new heights.
“What? You’re from the Moseys?” he stammered, disbelief on his face. The Moseys members were usually scarce and stayed in the inner city, so why was she here?
“What’s the matter? Do you doubt me? Open your eyes wide and see for yourself!”
Not one to back down, Julie swiftly took out a gold badge, holding it up for everyone to see. The badge had the word “Mosey”.
“Oh my god! Is that a badge from Sir Mosey? She truly is a member of the Mosey family!” the crowd exclaimed in awe.
