An Understated Dominance Chapter 1419 by Marina Vittori

Dexter was confused by the sudden slap. He was too shocked to react. Everyone else present was astounded as well. They had no idea what was happening. Didn’t Dante come to protect Dexter? Why would he slap his nephew as soon as he saw him?

“Uncle Dante, why did you slap me?” Dexter looked aggrieved as he held his burning cheek.

Out in public, he was the Chaos Demon. However, he was just a terrified mouse before Dante. After all, his uncle was the one who gave him everything he had today.

“Hmph! Don’t you have the faintest clue why I slapped you? How many fucking times have I told you? You can do whatever you want outside, be it picking a fight or finding faults.

“Whatever it is, the sky is practically your limit because you have the backing of the Fallon family! My only request is to never lose a fight!

“The Fallon family will not tolerate losers nor cowards! You’re a freaking Four-star Marshal, and you let a boy toy defeat you?

“You’re such an embarrassment to the Fallon family! Tell me, did you or did you not deserve that slap?” Dante was almost screaming at the end of his sentence.

“I-” Dexter was at a loss for words as he hung his head low in shame.

The Fallon family was a military family. They had been producing famous generals for generations. In the family, actions spoke louder than words.

The children of the Fallon family had to abide by an unwritten rule since young -they could be the worst in anything except for winning fights. If they ever lost one, they’d be punished at home.

“You’re fucking useless! When we go home, you’ll receive eighty lashes of the Fallon military whipping. After that, you’ll kneel in the courtyard for three days and three nights!” Dante yelled sternly.

“Yes, uncle.” Dexter lowered his head, not daring to challenge Dante’s decision.

Everyone in the banquet hall looked at each other with a strange expression upon seeing the enraged Dante. The Fallon family sure had an interesting way of educating their younger members.

In normal families, they’d always hem in the young and teach them to stay out of trouble. The Fallon family was the complete opposite. Instead of constraining the younger members, they encouraged them to pick fights.

The Fallons’ only request was they could never lose a fight and tarnish the family’s reputation. It was no wonder Dexter was titled the Chaos Demon. How could a normal person endure this weird educational philosophy?

“Who bullied my nephew earlier? Show yourself!” After teaching Dexter a lesson, Dante marched to the center as his sharp gaze swept across the room.

“It was him, Sir Dante! He hit Mr. Dexter!” Harper reacted quickly, pointing a finger at Dustin. She was trying to gain favor with Dante.

“Oh?” With narrowed eyes, Dante turned to look toward the direction she was pointing. However, when he finally laid eyes on Dustin, he was a little taken aback.  This guy looked a little familiar.

“Sir Dante, all this was because of me. Please deal with me directly if you’re unhappy with anything.” Natasha walked forward and stood in front of Dustin.

Dante was an experienced general and a high-ranking one at that. His combat skills were impeccable. When compared to a rich playboy like Dexter, he was a hundred times stronger.

“This is between men. Women should stay out of it.” Dante looked at Dustin carefully and felt that he looked really familiar.

“Hey, you. What’s your name? What family are you from?” he asked inquisitively.

“He’s Dustin Rhys, and he’s a nobody,” Harper hurriedly explained. She’d never miss an opportunity to put Dustin down.

“Last name Rhys?” Dante’s eyelid twitched. He had an ominous feeling.

There wasn’t any big family in Oakvale that had “Rhys” as their last name. Even so, that didn’t mean that this last name was unimportant.

On the contrary, the last name “Rhys” was a presence above the four ancient houses. In fact, the Rhys could be in the same ranking as the royal family, the Linsors.

This was because the Prince of Theswe from West Lucozia, a very powerful and influential figure, was surnamed Rhys!

Generally, it wouldn’t matter too much. However, this guy looked too familiar and shared the same last name. It wasn’t his fault to overthink this.

“Hey, kid. Have we met before?” Dante asked with a hand on his chin.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
