An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1284
Brooke eyed Dustin to determine if he was telling the truth but could not find any inconsistencies. He asked intently, “Why should I trust you?”
“Dr. Busch, if I wanted revenge, I’d end both of you by now,” Dustin responded. He flicked his finger, and a bolt of energy shot out. It shattered a flower vase on the windowsill with a bang.
“What?” Brooke’s eyes widened, and his expression turned grim. He knew that the ability to manifest his energy meant Dustin was a strong martial artist. Brooke knew he couldn’t stop Dustin if he had bad intentions. So, he had to trust Dustin at this point.
“Dr. Busch, I’m sorry for startling you. Please forgive me,” Dustin apologized again.
“Very well! I believe you now. Unfortunately, you are too late, though, “Brooke said. He stepped aside and looked at the bed where Cinna lay.
“Cinna has been vegetative for ten years and has not woken up. I have tried many treatments, none have been successful.”
“Dr. Busch, let me try. I have some divine medical skills and may be able to help you,” Dustin offered as he looked at Cinna.
“You?” Brooke shook his head. “Kid, it’s not that I don’t trust you, but Cinna’s illness is more complicated than that. “There’s a potent energy inside him that I can’t seem to get rid of. All I can do is give him tablets to keep him alive.
Cinna had suffered severe injuries ten years ago that had taken a toll on his body and almost killed him. Brooke had managed to extend his life, but it was only temporary. Even now, he was still unconscious.
A formidable energy inside him kept damaging his eight vital meridians. Brooke had tried many times to remove the energy but could not. He suspected it was the source of Cinna’s unconsciousness.
“We won’t know if it’s possible until we try it,” Dustin replied as he sat beside the bed and checked Cinna’s pulse. His eyes widened in shock at what he found.
Dustin realized Cinna was in worse shape than he had expected. Fortunately, Cinna had a good physical condition. He could have died long ago if it weren’t for panacea. Dustin took a deep breath and attempted to infuse true energy into Cinna to check his condition.
But something inside Cinna was triggered, and a fierce, dominant true energy repelled Dustin’s true energy. Dustin recoiled from the clash.
“Indeed, something is not right!” Dustin’s expression turned grave. On closer inspection, it seemed that Cinna had not only been injured physically. There was also a seal on him, causing damage to his body.
The seal was strong and hidden, and any external energy that entered the body would be repelled. It was no surprise that Brooke couldn’t do much and that Cinna hadn’t woken up. The situation was more complicated than he thought.
“Young man, don’t push yourself too hard. Cinna may never wake up,” Brooke sighed. “Dr. Busch, you’re wrong. Mr. Shaffer will wake up because I can cure him!” Dustin’s statement was bold.
“What did you say? You can cure him?” Brooke looked at him in disbelief. “Kid, you aren’t kidding me here, are you? I’ve spent the last ten years researching Cinna’s condition and finding no answers.
“You’re telling me that you can cure him?”
He could not believe that a young man in his twenties could solve a mysterious illness he couldn’t even diagnose.
