An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1272
“But what will happen to the Harmon family once I’m gone?” Natasha turned to look behind her. Her father had just passed away, and the family was on the verge of breaking apart. She’d feel bad to just walk away like that.
“They are them, and you are you. Why do you put unnecessary burdens on yourself? “All I want is for you to lead a happy and blissful life. Nothing else matters,” Simon said.
“But…” Natasha was in a dilemma. She had lived with the Harmons for so many years. How could she just abandon them and leave without a care?
“Fine, if you’re so torn, I’ll help the Harmons out just this once,” Simon said earnestly.
“If you promise to return with me to Oakvale, I guarantee the Harmon family will return to its former glory within a year.
“In three years, I’ll make the Harmon family better than it ever was and replace the Grants as the new leader of the Tremendous Three. How’s that?”
Chaos broke out among the Harmons as they were overjoyed to hear that. To have their former glory restored and to replace the Grants as the next leader of the Tremendous Three?
That was an opportunity given by God! A once-in-a-lifetime chance! Of course, if anyone else had promised that, they would not have believed them. But it was a different story since it was the Duke of Lachshire who said it.
As an influential person of high status, he meant every word he said. There was no doubt that he’d be able to do what he promised. Bringing the Harmon family to new heights was not difficult for him at all. He could even make pigs fly if he so wished!
“Are you really willing to help the Harmon family, Grandfather Ballard?” Natasha asked hesitantly. “It wouldn’t be difficult to help them out. I can easily do it for your sake,” Simon said confidently.
“But, of course, with the condition that you agree to come with me.
“Well…” Natasha wanted to say something but stopped. She was still hesitant. “Uh… Natasha, you’re super talented. It’d be a waste for someone of your caliber to stay in Millsburg.
“I think you should go with the Duke of Lachshire to Oakvale. You’ll have a better future there.” One of the Harmon elders gathered the courage to voice his opinion.
“Yes! That’s true! With your extraordinary gifts, you deserve better guidance.
“But the Harmon family is unable to offer you that. Only the duke can do that.”
“Natasha, there’s no need to consider any further! Just agree to it! You mustn’t disappoint the duke!”
Many of the Harmons began persuading Natasha to go with Simon, appearing anxious about it. Before this, they had been looking forward to Natasha becoming the family head to bear all the heavy burdens.
But now, they did a complete 180. They couldn’t wait for Natasha to leave so Simon would do as promised.
It was the opportunity of a lifetime, and they wouldn’t let it slip past them like that. They would regret it for the rest of their lives if they did.
“What do you think, Grandfather?” Natasha turned to look at Andrew. Andrew coughed awkwardly but forced himself to say, “Natasha, your Grandfather Ballard is right.
“Staying in Millsburg will only limit you from unleashing your full potential. Only in Oakvale can you show the world what you’ve got.”
Natasha kept quiet when she heard that. A while later, she nodded.
“Alright, if all of you wish for me to go to Oakvale, then I shall do as you wish.”
“Great! This will be the best decision you’ve ever made, Natasha!” The Harmons were overjoyed.
“A bunch of opportunists!” Simon huffed condescendingly. No wonder the Harmon family was collapsing; they changed their mind so quickly just for some benefits.
“Grandfather Ballard, before I leave for Oakvale, there is someone I need to meet,” Natasha piped up. “Oh? Who is it?” Simon was curious.
“His name is Dustin Rhys. He’s my soulmate.”
