The helper caught on and left immediately. Soon, he came in with a wooden box. “Kid, I’m giving this to you as a gift.” Christopher received the wooden box before passing it to Dustin.
Dustin opened it up carefully and was greeted by a unique smell. Inside the wooden box laid a colorful Cherusia. The Cherusia was the size of a palm. It appeared delicate and beautiful, resembling a perfect work of art.
When illuminated by the light, it sparkled with radiant colors, creating a breathtaking sight. “It really is the Cherusia!” Dustin’s face lit up as he jumped to his feet.
He shook Christopher’s hand enthusiastically. “Thank you so much for agreeing to give this to me, General Murray!”
Christopher appeared genuinely generous as he replied, “I have no use for it myself anyway. Besides, I gain a favor by giving it to you.”
“I can’t express my gratitude enough. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you ever need my help,” Dustin said. The Cherusia was invaluable, yet Christopher had given it to him without hesitation. Dustin was truly grateful to him.
“Alright, no need to make a big deal out of it. You can make it up to me by having a few more drinks with me tonight,” Christopher said nonchalantly.
“Sure! I’ll drink with you and make sure you have a great time!” Dustin smiled as he said. He seemed to have remembered something and added, “Oh, right. General Murray, there’s something I must bring to your attention.
“I recently received information that someone may be plotting something at your birthday party. It’s best to be prepared.” The reason Dustin visited today was also to inform Christopher of what he had heard from Samuel.
“It’s nothing new. Every year, people are plotting against me in various ways. I’ve long gotten used to it,”
Christopher dismissed his concerns. As the Grand General and protector of Dragonmarsh, he had spent his entire life on the battlefield and had made countless enemies.
Many people inside and out of the country wanted him dead. Because of that, he had encountered numerous assassination attempts and ambushes.
What else had he yet experienced throughout the years? He wasn’t afraid of death. “As long as you’re prepared.” Dustin nodded and didn’t say anything more.
With Christopher’s position, there would undoubtedly be highly skilled bodyguards always protecting him. Ordinary people would never be able to get close to him.
“Sir Murray, an esteemed guest wishes to meet you outside.” Just then, a butler entered the room and reported respectfully to Christopher.
“An esteemed guest? Who?” Christopher asked impassively. “It’s Diego Bourbon from the aristocratic family in Kimboku,” the butler responded with his head lowered.
“Diego Bourbon? Is he Bourbon, that old dog’s grandson? Why is he here?” Christopher was puzzled.
“Mr. Antonio Bourbon is not feeling well and needs the Cherusia to prolong his life. Mr. Diego must be here for the Cherusia,” the butler stated truthfully.
“Hmph! Bourbon, that old dog, is not worthy of the Cherusia. Tell him to get lost!” Christopher’s expression grew cold.
“Yes, sir.” The butler left without another word.
“Kid, it’s time for dinner. Let’s go drink!” Seeing that it was time, Christopher ended their conversation and eagerly pulled Dustin out of the door.
As for Deigo, he didn’t care about him whatsoever. How dare a Kimboku citizen have their eyes on Dragonmarsh’s treasure? They should go to hell!
