“Let’s go. We’ll go with you,” Hartwin said as he stood up.
Winona also rose, and the three of them headed toward the courtyard house where Jared was.
At that moment, Jared was inside, playing games with Catina and Feenix. As soon as he had returned, the two women had pulled him into the room. Jared was caught off guard but knew they cared deeply for him, so he went along with it.
“Mr. Chance, Mr. Zeever is here and waiting for you in the living room,” Cloud said softly as he approached the door, hearing the laughter and chatter from inside.
Hearing this, Jared quickly straightened his clothes and hurried out of the room. After all, he was a guest in the Zeever residence, and with Dylan personally coming to see him, he couldn’t delay.
Following Cloud into the living room, he saw Dylan, along with Winona and Hartwin, waiting for him. “Mr. Zeever, why have you called for me?” Jared asked politely.
Dylan smiled. “Youth sure is great. Mr. Chance, you’ve just returned and aren’t even resting yet?”
Both Winona and Hartwin chuckled. They had sharp enough senses to hear what had been going on in Jared’s room.
Jared, slightly embarrassed, said, “Ah, there’s nothing else I could do, just going through the motions.”
Dylan continued, “Mr. Chance, a couple of days ago, people from Allardland came looking for you. Since you weren’t around, they stayed at the residence.”
“Someone from Allardland? Has Prince Cedric fallen ill again?” Jared asked, surprised.
“No, it’s not that. Several spirit beasts under Allardland’s care have become gravely ill. They want you to come take a look.”
“Oh, that’s all?” Jared shrugged. “I was planning to head to Allardland anyway. The immortal’s bone that King Bernard promised me hasn’t been delivered yet.”
He wanted to see if the immortal’s bone was truly the remains of the Vermilion Demon Lord.
“Perfect. I’ll go with you to meet the people from Allardland,” Dylan said, standing up. “By the way, could you take us along? We’d love to gain some experience.”
“Of course,” Jared agreed. “I’ll speak to the Allardland representatives and figure it out.”
Dylan was relieved that Jared was willing to let them join. Jared, unfamiliar with Allardland, might need their guidance if anything came up.
Overjoyed, Dylan led Jared to meet the envoy. Bernard had sent a middle-aged man, an Ultimate Realm expert named Ezequiel Yorba.
“Mr. Yorba, this is Jared, the man you’ve been seeking,” Dylan said respectfully as they approached.
The middle-aged man turned toward Jared and greeted him, “Good day, Mr. Chance. I am Ezequiel Yorba, the prime minister of Allardland. I’ve come on behalf of His Majesty, the King Bernard to invite you to Allardland.”
Jared quickly assessed Ezequiel. Despite his youth, he had already reached Ultimate Realm Level Two, which explained why he was the prime minister.
“Mr. Yorba,” Jared said, “Would it be all right if Mr. Zeever and the others joined me on this trip?”
“Certainly, as long as you’re coming, there’s no problem with others joining,” Ezequiel replied graciously.
“All right then, let me go inform Catina and Feenix of our departure,” Jared said.
He knew he couldn’t just slip away unnoticed.
The two women would be upset with him once again if he did. Jared was starting to feel the strain of dealing with these two strong-willed women. It was a lesson learned, indeed.
