“The array runes that guy used just now seem familiar to me. I feel like I’ve encountered them somewhere before. Why don’t you use the Nethersky Eye to take a closer look? You might be able to find a way to break the array. This statue is made up of tens of thousands of array runes. If you break the runes, the statue will be useless!” suggested the Vermilion Demon Lord.
“Yeah, I also felt something familiar just now, but I can’t recall it at the moment,” Jared replied, then activated the Nethersky Eye.
The world before him immediately turned gray.
Seeing Jared like this, Ventus snorted coldly. “So, you want to analyze the array runes on the statue and then break them, huh? Let me tell you, you’re wasting your time. This statue is built from tens of thousands of array runes. Even if you were lucky enough to break one, what difference would it make? And you won’t even break one. These runes were passed down directly by Elder Hellion himself.”
Ventus looked arrogant, showing no fear of Jared’s probing and not making any effort to stop him.
Hearing this, Jared deactivated the Nethersky Eye and cursed, “D*mn it. No wonder it felt familiar. But there’s no way these runes were directly passed down by Hellion. Something doesn’t add up. These runes aren’t even a tenth of his power. It’s obvious these have been passed down through who knows how many generations, and you lot are treating them like some precious treasure. Direct inheritance from Hellion, my ass. Let me show you what the real deal looks like.”
When Jared heard that the runes came from Hellion, he couldn’t help but laugh.
Jared had learned divine markings from Divinus and array runes from Hellion in person.
He had even combined their teachings. This statue was nothing more than a cheap knockoff, made by some of Hellion’s distant disciples.
If Jared had realized earlier that it was Hellion’s array runes, Ventus wouldn’t have been able to flaunt for so long.
“Stop bluffing! How could a nobody like you know Elder Hellion’s runes? He’s a figure from the celestial realm. You, a mere Sixth Level Tribulator, couldn’t possibly have been to the heavens!”
Ventus couldn’t believe that Jared had access to Hellion’s array runes.
What he didn’t know was that Hellion didn’t go to celestial realm but had been trapped in the Ethereal Realm this whole time!
“Believe it or not, you’ll see for yourself,” Jared replied calmly with a slight smile, tracing a rune in the air with his finger.
An array rune slowly materialized and floated toward Ventus.
Seeing the rune drift toward him, Ventus made no attempt to dodge.
He didn’t believe that a casually drawn rune from Jared could break through the tens of thousands of runes on his statue.
The rune Jared traced landed gently on Ventus.
Ventus felt nothing, and the enormous statue didn’t seem to change.
“Hahaha! Is this what you call Elder Hellion’s real array runes?” Ventus laughed wildly, his eyes filled with scorn and contempt.
Jared merely smiled, remaining silent.
However, soon, Ventus’ laughter abruptly ceased.
The array runes on the statue began to flicker, and one by one, they started to disappear.
As the runes vanished, the enormous statue began to collapse.
At the same time, Ventus’ true form, hidden inside the statue, started to emerge.
“W-What’s happening? Impossible! How could you know Elder Hellion’s arcane runes?”
Ventus desperately tried every method he knew to stop the statue from collapsing and to keep the array runes from disappearing, but nothing worked.
Within just a few breaths, all tens of thousands of array runes were broken and vanished completely.
The massive statue disappeared, leaving no trace of it behind-not even a fragment.
