“I didn’t expect you to have the Demon Flogger, but even so, I’m not afraid!” Ventus said with utter confidence.
Jared swung the whip fiercely.
Crack!
The whip lashed against Ventus, but nothing happened.
The array runes on the statue’s body flickered, blocking the Demon Flogger’s attack.
Jared was shocked. He hadn’t expected the array runes on the statue to even resist the power of the Demon Flogger!
“If the Demon Flogger won’t work, let’s see how you handle my Dragonslayer Sword…” Jared roared in anger as he drew his sword and struck.
The air was filled with the roar of a dragon as a sword light slashed toward Ventus.
However, the moment the light made contact with the statue, it dissipated instantly, shattered by the array runes.
“Sacred Light Fist…”
“Thunder Palm…”
Jared unleashed all his strongest techniques, yet none of them harmed Ventus in the slightest.
The array runes on the statue were simply too powerful, leaving Jared at a loss.
Witnessing this, Wyatt and the like were equally terrified.
All the moves Jared had used just now were powerful enough to reach the level of an Ultimate Realm cultivator, yet they didn’t even shake Ventus.
If even Jared’s attacks couldn’t harm him, how could the rest of them hope to stand a chance?
“Hahaha, you ants! With just a stomp, I can make sure all of you meet a tragic end!” Ventus cackled, his arrogance soaring.
“Mr. Chance, why don’t you take the others and escape? I’ll lead the alchemists to hold Ventus off!”
Wyatt leaped to Jared’s side, intending to let him flee while he covered for them.
Their lives had all been saved by Jared. Wyatt was willing to sacrifice himself to buy time for Jared’s escape.
Jared shook his head. “None of us can escape. We’re too far from the mainland. The only way to survive is to kill Ventus.”
Wyatt sighed deeply. “If only we’d killed him earlier!”
“Don’t worry too much, President Chance. We’ll figure out a way to deal with Ventus,” Jared reassured him.
Jared hadn’t yet used all of his methods.
He still had the Divine Bow and the Dragon Bell. He hadn’t even tapped into those powers.
And even if those couldn’t subdue Ventus, Jared had the little Celestial Devourer in his storage ring.
If the beast awoke, it might just devour Ventus.
If all else failed, Jared could always rely on the Vermilion Demon Lord to possess him again. Jared was confident that the Vermilion Demon Lord would be able to handle the statue.
“Kid, use whatever tricks you have left. If you don’t have any, I won’t waste more time-I’ll kill all of you and feed you to the fish!” Ventus taunted arrogantly.
“Mr. Vermilion, if you possessed me again, could you break the statue and kill this guy?” Jared asked the Vermilion Demon Lord.
“Of course I could. I could crush him with a single slap. But if I do that, your physical body will be destroyed. You won’t survive the force. If your body is destroyed, I’ll disappear too, leaving you with nothing but a shattered soul. You can bear the price, but I can’t,” the Vermilion Demon Lord said.
Jared fell silent. The price of losing his physical body was too high.
While the Vermilion Demon Lord could indeed destroy Ventus, the stronger the opponent, the more devastating his attack would be.
Jared’s body couldn’t handle such power and would surely explode.
Faced with this dilemma, Jared was truly at an impasse.
