Upon seeing the situation, Wyatt also gave a nod.
The battered spirit ship continued its journey. This time, Jared and his companions didn’t need to actively search for the small island. They were certain that they would surely see it simply by following this direction.
At that moment, on the open sea toward which Jared and his group were heading, a massive spirit ship was swiftly cutting through the waves, riding the wind.
“Speed up! Hurry!”
On the deck, the leader of Sky Slasher Sect, Ventus, wore a serious expression as he gazed out at the sea. Upon receiving the message for reinforcements, he had immediately set out with his men.
“You needn’t worry excessively, Mr. Mulligan.. Aaron and the others will be fine. Even if there are a few array masters among these alchemists, they’re certainly there just to better control the spirit ship. Who knows? Aaron and the others might have already subdued those alchemists and could be on their way here right now!” said a slender man in an attempt to comfort Ventus.
“It’s not that I’m worried about those few array masters. Our spirit ship has numerous arcane arrays, and we have the secret techniques of Sky Slasher Sect, so Aaron and the others will be fine. I was just worried that they might get caught in the storm-prone sea area. This year’s storms are far more powerful than those of previous years. If they really got swept up in it, survival would be quite difficult.”
Ventus wasn’t worried that Aaron and his team would be defeated by the alchemists.
Even if there were a few array masters among these alchemists, they would certainly know that a spirit ship required an array master to control the spiritual array, providing protection for the ship, to sail far. Without the protection of an array master, the spirit ship would be unable to brave the waves and travel such great distances.
These few array masters would stand no chance against Aaron and his team. What worried Ventus was that Aaron might have underestimated the power of the storm, and could end up getting sucked into it.
At that moment, a disciple from Sky Slasher Sect cried out, “Mr. Mulligan, there’s a spirit ship coming!”
Looking into the distance, Ventus indeed spotted a dilapidated spirit ship moving in his direction. It appeared as though the spirit ship was on the verge of falling apart.
“Could this wrecked spirit ship have possibly emerged from the storm-prone sea area?” someone exclaimed.
“It can’t be Sky Slasher Sect’s spirit ship, can it?” asked another.
“Go take a look. This place rarely has visitors. Let’s see who these people really are,” Ventus said with a wave.
As the two spirit ships steadily approached each other, Ventus’ brow furrowed slightly. “This isn’t Sky Slasher Sect’s spirit ship. The arcane arrays on this spirit ship isn’t right,” he said.
Even though the spirit ship was constructed similarly, the arcane array that propelled it and the one that protected it were different. Therefore, one could distinguish them based on these arcane arrays.
At that moment, Jared, who was on the spirit ship, was summoned to the deck by Wyatt, “Look over there, Mr. Chance. Another spirit ship is approaching. I wonder if it belongs to Sky Slasher Sect.”
Jared glanced over, sensing the arcane array on the spirit ship. He then nodded and said, “It’s a spirit ship from Sky Slasher Sect…”
Wyatt’s face tensed up after he heard that. Then, he said, “I’ll immediately alert everyone to prepare for battle!”
“No need for that just yet, President Chance. You and all the alchemists should hide in the ship’s cabin. Make sure not to reveal your presence or make any noise. If we could manage to slip through unnoticed, there would be no need for a fight.”
Jared knew that if a fight were to break out, many of these alchemists would probably lose their lives.
“All right!” Wyatt nodded in agreement.
All the alchemists had taken refuge in the ship’s cabin, their presence concealed by a surrounding group of arcane arrays.
Jared instructed Carlo to have all the members of Duad Formation Sect stand firmly on the deck head straight toward the spirit ship of Sky Slasher Sect.
Swiftly, the two spirit ships came to a halt, facing each other at a distance of several meters.
Jared and his crew’s spirit ship was in a shabby state. In contrast to the spirit ship of Sky Slasher Sect, it appeared significantly more dilapidated and poor.
