“How do we defeat him? This guy seems to be only a Sixth Level Tribulator, but his strength is formidable, and he even knows magecraft. Despite his young age, he’s already the sect leader of the Duad Formation Sect-definitely not someone to underestimate!” Stanton said.
“Mr. Waller, don’t let this guy scare you. You’re the head of the Sky Slasher Sect, and your strength surpasses Jared’s by far. There’s no way you’d lose to him in a one-on-one fight!” Thaddeus flattered Stanton.
“Exactly, exactly! Mr. Waller, your magecraft unparalleled. If it hadn’t been for the sudden interference from the Duad Formation Sect, these people would have long fallen to your formation! You won’t be afraid of him!” Ernesto joined in, showering Stanton with praise.
Flattered by their words, Stanton’s confidence swelled.
“Of course! I’m in Ultimate Realm Level Two and the sect leader of the Sky Slasher Sect. How could I possibly fear a mere Sixth Level Tribulator?”
Frowning, he added, “However, with their numbers, I’m afraid I wouldn’t stand a chance if they all came at me at once.”
“Mr. Waller, just challenge Jared directly. If they dare to make a move, we’ll block them for you. Once Jared falls, their entire group will collapse!” Thaddeus persuaded, eager for Stanton to fight Jared.
Thaddeus hated Jared the most-if not for him, their plan would have gone off without a hitch.
“Okay, I’ll give it a shot. That guy killed so many of my disciples. Let me avenge them!”
Fooled by his words, Stanton leaped off the spirit ship.
His black cloak billowed in the wind, and he still wore a mask over his face.
“Stanton’s still here!” Sylvain shouted in surprise when he saw him.
Everyone was equally stunned. They couldn’t understand why Stanton was still here when the disciples of Sky Slasher Sect were all dead.
Stanton discarded his cloak and removed his mask, revealing a twisted face with cold light flickering in his eyes.
His Ultimate Realm’s aura, surged, causing several alchemists to feel as though they couldn’t breathe.
“I didn’t expect you to stay behind and wait for your death,” Jared remarked, surprised to see Stanton.
After witnessing his strength, Jared didn’t think Stanton would dare show his face again.
What Jared didn’t realize was that Stanton had been thoroughly tricked into confronting him.
Stanton declared, “Hmph, the one facing death is you. You’ve killed so many of my disciples, and I will avenge them! Do you dare to face me in single combat? Whether it’s with real weapons or magecraft, I’ll let you strike first!”
“Jared, don’t listen to him!” Viola quickly interjected, blocking Jared. “This guy is shameless. An Ultimate Realm expert challenging a Tribulator in a one-on-one fight? How despicable!”
She didn’t want Jared to fight alone. They had strength in numbers. If they were to attack together, Stanton wouldn’t be able to escape!”
“Stanton, you’re truly shameless. How can you even suggest a one-on-one fight?” Sylvain scoffed.
“Hmph, I only wish to avoid further bloodshed. If you all attack, it will only lead to more slaughter, and the weaker alchemists will be the ones to suffer,” Stanton responded, trying to justify himself with a noble-sounding reason.
“Pah! You have no shame. I can’t believe you’re saying something like that!” Wyatt spat in disgust.
“Mr. Chance, don’t be fooled. He’s doing this on purpose,” Sigurd warned.
Smiling, Jared turned to Stanton and said, “Since you want a one-on-one duel with me, I’ll oblige. I’ll beat you to the point where you’ll have no choice but to admit defeat.”
