“That’s exactly what I did, Dad! Some of these people were causing trouble, so I had to maintain order by hiking up the price. See? That got them all to behave themselves!” Jonah Quattlebaum replied.
The elderly man, Gideon Quattlebaum, then turned toward the middle-aged man and said apologetically. “Sorry about this, Mr. Seizon. My son is utterly hopeless! He can’t do anything right!”
“You’re being a little too harsh on your son, Mr. Gideon. The fact that Mr. Jonah reached Tribulator proves that he is extremely talented,” the middle-aged man replied. Jonah was delighted when he heard the compliment.
“Stop complimenting him, Mr. Seizon. Otherwise, he’ll let it get to his head! I will head over with my men after three days. Please be prepared,” Gideon said with a smile.
“Of course. May we have a great partnership!” the middle-aged man replied while shaking Gideon’s hand.
He then entered the Teleportation Array, and the men from Behemoth Palace started activating it. It became obvious that they were waiting for this middle-aged man to arrive before activating the Teleportation Array.
“Let’s go!” Gideon called out to Jonah when he saw the middle-aged man enter the Teleportation Array.
Jonah shot Jared and the others an icy-cold glare as he told the two disciples, “Don’t let them in unless they pay up!”
He then gleefully left with his father after saying that.
Noticing that the Teleportation Array had been activated, the cultivators who had paid extra quickly ran inside. Those who failed to scrounge up the money could only pace up and down in frustration.
“I’ll go top up the money, Mr. Chance!” Cloud said and ran off to make the payment.
Paying a few million was not a problem for him at all. Jared and the others were only allowed to enter the Teleportation Array after making the payment.
Right as they entered the Teleportation Array. Jared felt a pair of eyes staring at him.. Upon turning around, however, he saw that the gaze was gone.
“What’s wrong, Mr. Chance?” Cloud asked.
“It’s nothing. I just felt as though someone was staring at us, that’s all!” Jared replied with a frown.
Feenix immediately glanced about when she heard that but didn’t find anything unusual. “Someone is staring at us? I didn’t feel anything, though!”
Soon, the Teleportation Array was completely. filled with cultivators, and its entrance slowly started to close
“Get ready, everyone! The Teleportation Array will be activated now. Do not release your spiritual sense during its activation. We will not be responsible for what happens if you do!” said one of the disciples.
Seconds later, everyone felt the Teleportation Array start to rotate beneath their feet. Rays of light came out of the Teleportation Array and enveloped those within it. As the Teleportation Array rotated faster and faster, those inside saw a white light flash before them.
At that very moment, everyone’s consciousness seemed to be completely frozen, making them appear like corpses.
Jared wanted to find out how the massive Teleportation Array was created, so he released his spiritual sense after the white light flashed.
Although Jared’s magecraft wasn’t great enough to create a Teleportation Array of this scale, he could create a small one for himself if he knew how it was made.
That would make it a lot easier for him to go anywhere he wanted. However, Jared felt as though he had fallen into a huge vortex the moment his spiritual sense left his body.
It was as though a powerful force was sucking his soul out of his body. Jared began to panic as he desperately tried to calm his consciousness field down.
“Help! Save me, Mr. Chance!” Faiyar screamed for help within his consciousness field.
