Shen Qi entered the bathroom, and she was especially disgusted with the stench coming from her body.
However, she was furious earlier.
Those people worked in Ye Group, but they were all mocking her and Ye Moxuan.
Shen Qi was especially angry whenever she recalled how he was being mocked as a cripple and an impotent man by his own staff.
Who are they to laugh at others? What good would it bring for themselves?
She turned on the shower, and water came splashing from the showerhead above, effectively soaking her.
She took off the smelly clothes on her before switching on the exhaust duct as well.
The part of the skin on her shoulder which was scalded earlier felt especially painful upon contact with water, and Shen Qi moved a couple of steps sideways instinctively.
“Ah-hem,” came Ye Linhan’s voice. Shen Qi hugged her body reflexively when she heard him.
“Shen Qi, there’s some shower foam in there. Please help yourself. I’ll be leaving now, and my assistant will come over to help you later.”
“Oh, alright…”
Shen Qi nodded, and she felt filthy right now, which was why she had to shower immediately.
Hence, she couldn’t be bothered by small hiccups.
After about twenty minutes, someone seemed to have entered the lounge and was knocking on her door.
There was a long pause, and so Shen Qi asked wearily, “Who is it?”
She was just done washing away the filth on her, and she was now having a bubble bath.
Shen Qi was confused when no one answered her from the other side of the door, and so she approached the door before repeating her question. “Who is it?”
There was another long pause before a crisp, male voice answered her.
“It’s me.”
At first, Shen Qi was dumbfounded, but she snapped back to her senses with a start. Isn’t that voice… Ye Moxuan’s?
Once she thought of the fact that Ye Moxuan was right outside her door, Shen Qi’s initial weariness turned into full-blown anxiety. She also realized with a start that Ye Moxuan would be furious with her since he found out that she was having a shower in someone else’s bathroom.
In that instant, Shen Qi panicked, and she wasn’t sure what she should do.
“Open the door.”
Ye Moxuan demanded.
Shen Qi’s expression stiffened while she replied in a soft voice, “I-I can’t.”
Ye Moxuan, who was outside of the bathroom, frowned while looking down at the bag he had in his hands. “I’m repeating one last time; open the door,” he demanded coldly.
Shen Qi was rendered speechless by his insistence.
There it is again! That’s the tone he uses before he loses his temper.
To a certain extent, Shen Qi was still scared of him. But after pondering, she finally opened the door a crack. She shielded herself behind the door while poking half her head out to look at Ye Moxuan.
Ye Moxuan gazed at her coldly, and he emitted an eerie and intimidating aura, just like a wild beast, and it was rather scary.
It so happened that he turned around to look at her when she looked at him, which shocked Shen Qi badly, and she was about slam the door shut in a rush when a bag got shoved in.
Shen Qi was astounded. “W-What is this?”
“Are you planning to come out naked?” Ye Moxuan’s tone was icy-cold when he asked through gritted teeth. “Feel free to try that if you have a death wish.”
How would Shen Qi possibly leave the bathroom naked? Hence, she accepted the bag from Ye Moxuan and realized that it was a change of new clothes.
“Thank you.” She thanked him gratefully.
Ye Moxuan looked away while inhaling deeply. “I’ll give you ten minutes to sort yourself out and come out of the bathroom.”
“Okay,” Shen Qi acknowledged before closing the bathroom door. She hung the bag on the hook before turning the showerhead on again to wash the bubbles and foam away.
The agreed time was ten minutes, and Shen Qi was in time, because she walked out of the bathroom in nine minutes.
The lounge was quiet with only Ye Moxuan alone, seated on his wheelchair.
It was a stark contrast in temperature compared to when she just entered the lounge earlier, because now, the lounge felt as chilly as a giant freezer for frozen foods. Shen Qi just had a shower, so there were still water droplets clinging onto her body, which made her feel cold in the lounge, making her shudder involuntarily.
Ye Moxuan’s back was facing her while he emitted a frosty aura.
Shen Qi stood rooted on the spot for a moment before calling for him quietly. “Well… Ye Moxuan, I’m done.”
Ye Moxuan pondered before turning around to glance at her.
His gaze was so hostile that it shocked her into taking a step backward.
“Follow me out,” he ordered with a cold tone.
Shen Qi had no choice but to nod, and she approached him to push him out.
Shen Qi was in a daze because Ye Linhan was the one who sent her in, but he was nowhere to be seen. His assistant is missing as well. Didn’t he say that his assistant will be sending me clothes?
Why is Ye Moxuan here instead?
Shen Qi couldn’t figure it out.
“Are you disappointed?” Ye Moxuan questioned coldly.
Shen Qi snapped back to reality when she heard his voice. “What?”
“You are disappointed that I was the one you saw once you got out, am I right?”
Shen Qi hesitated. “No, I’m just wondering where they are…”
Ye Moxuan sneered, “Do you think that I will allow other men to see my woman after she just had her shower?”
Shen Qi’s heart skipped a beat when she heard that.
“Did you not hear a word I told you yesterday?”
His tone was icy, making Shen Qi flinch unconsciously. “I did.”
“In that case, why were you with Ye Linhan? Didn’t I ask you to keep your distance from him?”
Shen Qi pushed him out while explaining the situation. “It was an accident.”
“Alright, then. Explain to me.”
Shen Qi was rendered speechless.
Hang on, since when has Ye Moxuan become so childish? Why is he interested in my explanation?
Shen Qi was lost in her thoughts for a while before she explained what happened in the canteen in brief.
Well, I had an argument with a few girls in the canteen, and they started it first. I lost my temper and fought back…
Toward the end, Shen Qi’s voice became softer, as if she was the party at fault.
Ye Moxuan did not reply to her, but the aura shrouded over him seemed even more somber than before. Shen Qi then stopped speaking and pushed him back to his office.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave now.” Shen Qi thought that it would be the end of it after sending Ye Moxuan back to his office, and so she prepared to leave.
However, just when she turned around, Ye Moxuan’s alluring voice rang again.
“What were you afraid of?”
What? Shen Qi stopped dead in her tracks before turning around to look at him in confusion.
Ye Moxuan pushed his wheelchair and turned around slowly before gazing at her coldly. “If it was someone else’s mistake, why didn’t you defend yourself?”
Shen Qi thought that he didn’t believe her story, and so she stuttered and fumbled through an apology. “I’m sorry. I know that such matters are horrible, and I will never… act in such a manner again.”
“What manner are you referring to? Not fighting back? Or are you saying that if you bump into such situations again, you’ll still get into a catfight with them?”
Shen Qi was already upset to begin with, and coupled with Ye Moxuan’s horrible scolding, she felt overwhelmed by sadness, which came surging in her chest. She felt terrible trying to hold back her emotions, and she clenched her fists tightly involuntarily.
“I will obey you, Young Master Ye. Your wish is my command.”
Ye Moxuan frowned deeply when he saw her trying to bury her emotions and feelings.
“Are you an idiot?”
