A red glow began to flicker on Jared’s forehead, quickly forming into an eye-he had activated the Nethersky Eye, determined to uncover the mystery behind this statue.
There was no way Sky Slasher Sect would place an ordinary statue in such a secretive spot.
The moment the Nethersky Eye opened, Ventus trembled slightly, a flicker of panic flashing through his eyes.
Suddenly, a wisp of black mist emerged from his palm and shot directly toward the statue.
As soon as it touched the statue, the figure emitted a radiant golden light, with array runes glowing all over its body.
In the blink of an eye, Ventus was absorbed into the statue!
Ventus’ crazed laughter echoed.
“You’ve all fallen for it! This statue contains powerful formation patterns. Now that I’ve fused with it, I am an indestructible immortal!”
Ventus’ voice roared with triumph.
Having merged with the statue, he casually waved his hand, sending a massive surge of energy toward Jared.
The force struck him violently, hurling Jared through the air.
With Ventus ascending into the sky, the entire main hall collapsed beneath him, crumbling into ruins.
The deafening crash left Wyatt and the others stunned as they looked in the direction of the sound.
To their shock, they saw the enormous statue had come to life, rising into the sky and reducing the hall to rubble.
“Jared!”
Viola was the first to spot Jared, who had been blasted away.
She immediately rushed to his side, and the others, abandoning the distribution of resources, quickly followed.
They had no idea what had just occurred.
“Jared, are you okay?”
Viola helped Jared to his feet.
Blood trickled from the corner of Jared’s mouth, but he shook his head. “I’m fine. I didn’t expect this guy to have a final trick up his sleeve,”
“Jared, what happened to Ventus?” Wyatt asked anxiously.
Jared pointed to the statue. “Ventus has fused with the statue. Right now, that statue is Ventus.”
“What?”
The group of alchemists grew tense, their nerves on edge.
“You destroyed my sect and killed my disciples. Today, I’ll make sure you all die here-every last one of you!”
Ventus’ voice boomed arrogantly from above as he gazed down at Jared and the others from the sky.
“Do you think a mere statue can kill us?”
Jared stepped forward, leaping into the air to confront Ventus.
“You know nothing! This statue was crafted with ancient array runes, and it contains tens of thousands of arcane arrays within. As long as I remain inside the statue, no one can harm me!” Ventus sneered.
“I don’t believe you!” Jared said coldly, as flames surged from his palm. With a powerful swing, a sea of fire engulfed Ventus, lighting up the sky in a blazing inferno.
Ventus only laughed. “I already told you, as long as I’m inside this statue, no one can hurt me. Now, I am an indestructible immortal. Stop wasting your efforts!”
Seeing that his flames had no effect on Ventus, Jared frowned.
Ventus, in turn, clapped his hands together, summoning an array rune that materialized in midair, forming a cage that descended rapidly toward Jared.
This sudden arcane array cage gave Jared an eerie sense of familiarity, but he couldn’t immediately recall where he had encountered it before.
Without hesitation, Jared retreated swiftly and launched the Sacred Light Fist, shattering the cage.
“If fire won’t work, let’s see how you handle the Demon Flogger!” Jared declared as he pulled out the Demon Flogger, knowing it was a weapon Demonic Cultivators feared most.
Unlike physical attacks, the Demon Flogger’s strikes were magical.
