Jared took out the Stillwind Orb from his Storage Ring. It was brought to him by the old turtle he had subdued in the Night Sea, who had fished it out from the depths.
However, Jared wasn’t certain if the Stillwind Orb could withstand the storm, which stretched across tens of kilometers.
Everyone was stunned as they watched the massive storm take shape before their eyes.
A sense of impending doom hung over their heads like a death sentence.
The spirit ship fell into chaos. Some of the more timid people began to tremble, and some were even on the verge of tears.
“Mr. Chance, this storm is too vast. I fear our formation won’t hold,” Carlo said, his voice filled with concern as he gazed at the growing storm.
Hearing Carlo’s worries, Wyatt and Hartwin quickly gathered around Jared.
“Mr. Chance, what should we do? Are we all going to die here?” Wyatt asked.
“Don’t worry. We just need to make it through the storm and reach the eye of it. The center of this massive storm will be calm,” Jared said as he looked at the storm, which spanned tens of kilometers in diameter.
He knew that the safest place in such a colossal storm was in the eye of it.
The key was to find a way to steer the spirit ship through the storm’s edge quickly because that’s where the storm’s destructive force was at its worst.
Despite Jared’s reassurance, everyone remained anxious.
“Mr. Chance, I’m afraid our formation won’t hold long enough to get us to the center of the storm,” Carlo warned once again.
Everyone agreed that their fragile spirit ship might not survive such a storm.
“Don’t worry. If the formation breaks, I have another treasure that should be able to protect us from the storm,” Jared said calmly.
Seeing Jared’s confidence, Carlo said nothing further, and the others also fell into a quiet state of prayer.
The spirit ship soon reached the edge of the massive storm. Wind blades began to strike the spirit ship’s defensive array, creating crackling sounds as they impacted.
Cracks quickly appeared on the defensive array, and it looked as though it was about to shatter.
Carlo glanced at Jared and immediately led the others in a desperate effort to repair the damaged arcane array by channeling their spiritual energy into it.
The disciples of the Duad Formation Sect gritted their teeth and pushed the spirit ship into the storm. However, just as they entered the storm, the defensive array shattered with a thunderous crash!
Everyone was taken aback, instinctively summoning every ounce of their strength to resist the terrifying storm.
After a moment, they realized that despite the
broken arcane array, the wind blades from the storm weren’t attacking them.
The raging storm seemed to avoid the spirit ship entirely!
“W-What’s going on here?”
Wyatt was shocked, unable to understand why the storm was steering clear of their spirit ship.
“Mr. Chance, what are you holding?” Sigurd noticed the Stillwind Orb in Jared’s hand and asked curiously.
“This is the Stillwind Orb. It can shield us from the storm’s threat,” Jared explained with a slight smile.
The Stillwind Orb emitted a gentle glow, and soft gusts of wind could be heard swirling within the orb.
“The Stillwind Orb? I didn’t know you had such a magical item. No wonder you were so confident!” Wyatt exclaimed, stepping closer to get a better look at the orb.
The others also gathered around. It was their first time seeing such a rare magical item.
With the Stillwind Orb in hand, the spirit ship continued to sail forward, quickly passing through the storm’s edge.
When they reached the eye of the storm, all signs of the natural chaos vanished. The area was calm and peaceful, though the raging storm continued to howl around them.
Indeed, the eye of this massive storm was safe and incredibly peaceful!
However, the sea was filled with countless corpses of demon beasts, all of which had been torn apart by the storm.
“We’re safe for now. If anyone wants beast cores, feel free to retrieve them,” Jared said to the group.
As soon as they heard this, everyone quickly jumped into the sea, eager to harvest the beast cores from the fallen demon beasts.
