After all that, it seemed like Dustin was a monster. He was as swift as lightning, tough as a rock, indifferent to bullet, and merciless-this guy was a demon!
“Where’s Scott Mosey?” Covered in blood, Dustin glared at the muscle- bound man, his gaze icy.
“Spare me! We are just following orders. We have no grudge against you, just-” Suddenly, the muscular man quickly whipped out a grenade and chucked it straight at Dustin.
His timing was spot-on; the grenade would practically explode in an instant. The muscular man believed that no matter how tough Dustin was, there was no way Dustin could withstand the impact of the explosion.
Victory seemed to be in the muscular man’s grasp. He was convinced he had executed the perfect sneak attack, celebrating silently.
However, Dustin intervened, snatching the grenade mid-air. In the next instant, a muted “bang” echoed as the hand grenade exploded instantly. But the expected bloodbath didn’t happen.
In Dustin’s hands, the grenade seemed as harmless as a fart. Its terrifying explosion was forcefully contained.
Smoke wafted between Dustin’s fingers, carrying the scent of gunpowder. His casual handling made it seem like he was crushing a simple chicken egg, not a grenade.
“H-How is this possible?” The muscular man was dumbfounded, eyes wide, face full of disbelief. For him to snatch a grenade barehanded and emerge unscathed- was this guy even human?
“Have mercy! Spare me!” Panic-stricken, the muscular man dropped to his knees, begging for his life. Resistance was futile against this monster; all he could do was plead for his life.
“Where’s Scott Mosey?” Dustin’s voice remained cold.
“I don’t know… I don’t know anything! I just follow orders. Please spare my miserable life!” The muscular man wailed.
“You don’t know? Then die.” Without further ado, Dustin raised his hand and whacked the muscular man’s head with a resounding “thud.”
The body shuddered, and his head exploded like a watermelon hit by a bat. After dealing with the assassin squad, Dustin returned to the entrance. Lana lay still on the ground, blood staining her clothes. Her eyes were slightly open but losing their light.
Her chest no longer moved, and her pulse had weakened. Multiple gunshot wounds had pierced her heart, creating a bloody sight.
Dustin kneeled on the ground, gazing at Lana’s lifeless body, lost in thought. He didn’t know what to say, unsure how to mend the sight before him. Lost and distraught, his mind wandered.
In a moment of reverie, he almost saw Lana rise again, smiling at him. Memories of their encounters flooded his mind.
“Handsome, are you interested in being my 108th boyfriend?
“How about spending the night at my place? The bed’s big and comfy, guaranteed to make you linger.
“Handsome, you came at the right time. Let me introduce you. This is my dad, your future father-in-law.
“Handsome, living alone here is a bit scary. How about you keep me company tonight?
“Those rumors, you know, are not almost all true. Many say I’m fickle and fond of keeping boy toys. I won’t admit to being fickle, but the boy toys thing is true.
“I’ll find a way out of this and protect myself. You should go, don’t worry about me.
“Go… quickly…”
Dustin’s eyes reddened as he recalled those moments; his lips trembled, and his heart ached. Lana’s final words echoed in his ears, refusing to fade away.
“Dustin… What should I do? I think I’ve fallen for you.
“Unfortunately, I guess we’re not meant to be.
“Please, don’t forget me … okay?
“Promise me … don’t forget about me … okay?
