The Murray family had a thousand armed forces. It kept order through its formidable presence.
“Where are my reinforcements? I need backup, now!” Caden shouted, but there was no response from outside.
“There’s no need to shout. My men have infiltrated the Murray residence. Your soldiers have been defeated,” Gage said with a faint smile.
“That’s impossible! You’re lying!” Caden’s eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn’t imagine the defeat of a thousand well-trained soldiers. Gage calmly explained, “It took five years of preparation to get me here today.”
“So, you were prepared all along,” Caden said. His face darkened as he looked at his surroundings. He continued, “Gage, you’re brave and resourceful, but there’s one thing you overlooked.”
Gage asked, “What did I overlook?”
“Me!” Caden replied. He slowly removed his coat, revealing his muscular physique. He went on, “I’ve been training for years, and now I’m a semi- grandmaster. Your subordinates won’t stand a chance against me.”
“A semi-grandmaster?”
The crowd reacted in surprise. Attaining the rank of a divine master in Dragonmarsh required immense dedication and hard work. Therefore, reaching the level of a semi- grandmaster was a remarkable achievement. It meant having the ability to confront a thousand foes.
Caden warned Gage, “Surrender now or face the consequences.”
With a mighty stomp, Caden created a deep crater. He unleashed a massive shockwave that sent Gage’s subordinates flying.
Those who witnessed Caden’s power were gripped by fear. They knew that facing a semi-grandmaster was tantamount to a death sentence.
“Sheila, your father is incredibly strong. I doubt Gage would pose any problem today,” Vivian remarked. Evan admitted, “I had no idea Uncle Caden was a martial arts master.” He sounded impressed. He knew being a semi-grandmaster meant Caden could establish a sect with significant influence.
“I’m surprised, too,” Sheila said. She had never seen her father fight like this before. Gage clapped and said, “I didn’t expect you to reach such a level after all these years. I’m impressed.”
“Now that you know my strength, why don’t you give up?” Caden challenged. Gage remained composed. “Your martial arts talent is decent, but you’re not on my level.”
“You’re so arrogant!” Caden shouted.” Today, I’m going to prove you wrong!”
Determined, Caden stormed toward Gage. But a mysterious figure in a black robe, whose face was hidden, appeared behind Gage. It flickered up to stand in front of him, striking at Caden’s palm.
“You must be looking for trouble!”
Undeterred, Caden countered with a series of punches.
As their fists clashed, the black-robed figure remained resolute, letting his robes billow. In a flash, Caden was sent flying. He slammed into a wall and coughed up blood.
